Thank you for this! Very helpful! I have a tricky question for you! First, short background - I create and export vectors for use in Cricut which does not accept pattern fills. With that said - I want to overlay the plaid on a shape and crop (that's my solution to the pattern fill issue, works well usually) but because this is all on top of each other, when I crop its just taking the top layer colors. Any chance you know of another work around?

Hi! How to do the down picture texture? dark green. Im looking for that.
@debbiebux-hurwitz6160 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve here. Down is the insulation inside of 2 layers of fabric, normally we indicate to a factory by pointing to a part of the garment flat CAD with a arrow and then type out the words" DOWN FILL" so they know this area of garment has down filling inside of it. I've never heard of showing the actual down texture in a garment CAD. Because the down filling is sandwiched between 2 layers of fabric, there would really be no reason to create a texture in a CAD for it. But I guess you can Google search "Down insulation images" and see what kind of textured imagery pops up that might help you if you were insistent on showing this texture in your garment CAD.

Great way to make a chevron pattern. Herringbone is slightly different - you have rectangular pieces rotated at 45degree angle, where the short side aligns on the long side. But I liked how you manually lined up the top/side in the "pattern" make mode. I usually do it all before I even bring it into the 'make pattern' tool. I only use the 'make pattern' tool to make my swatch. Thanks for sharing! :)

Helpful video. Can you please make a video where the plaids are filled with weave pattern too? Like Twill weave, plain weave which is usually seen in woven Shirt fabrics? I tried t fill the weaves in Stripe designs but the weave is not getting filled inside stripes though I used the appropriate weave to fit into stripe's width. However, if you can make a video on filling weaves into designs, it will be an additional knowledge to gain & implement in our designs to show fabric simulation.

Thanks, I do have other videos on here with jersey stitch over stripes and herringbone weave that you can put over a plaid pattern. I don’t post a ton of videos all the time b/c I am not a full time KZbinr and very busy with my design & teaching jobs but hope to create some more this summer to add new ones. Thanks for the feedback

Hey do you know where I can get that croqui template?
@debbiebux-hurwitz61602 жыл бұрын
If you do google search for Fashion croquis templates, try and find one similar to what I showed in my video lessons. It should be a croquis pose that has no attitude with arms extended out and legs straight as those "still poses" are the best to draw Body CAD clothing over top of. I got my croquis template from a fellow teacher years ago so I don't know where they found that exact one.
