Way to go, north Georgia boy! Good tunes, lyrics, riffs ... I would call it classic Americana, but that's a genre that has yet to be clearly defined. Not strictly country or bluegrass or "this old porch", but flavors thereof ... with a kick of rock every now and then.

Me: Idk man, I'm not feeling like wistfully exploring the forests of Appalachia with an appreciation of Americana today. Pony Bradshaw: *drops this banger* Me: Nevermind

I'm still working on the second listen of this album but this song stood out to me. There are plenty of songs in Bradshaw's catalog that I like, but I have no idea what he's talking about or the story it's trying to tell. Mosquitos is a good example. Love the song, but I'm too simple to understand. Maybe it's suppose to take on its own meeting. "Rebel" sounds like brief historical vignettes. First, a frontier man (?). Second, the snake from garden of Eden(?). Third, clearly American author Bill Faulkner. Fourth, Frederick Douglas and his plead to John Brown not to invade Harper's Ferry. Fourth, about Robert E. Lee but there's seems to be a message I don't understand at the end. "Hours mount like the United States, turning days into years, campaigns to clear our conscience. " I feel like I'm looking to deep or just too simple to understand. Either way, great music looking forward to spinning it on vinyl when I get home. (s/o to whomever sent the record a couple days before so it would show up on release day, often overlooked. When you come back to the east coast I hope to catch you before the set and ask these burning questions.

Campaigns to clear our conscience probably has to do with the reconstruction. Rutherford B Hayes and the Associated Press comes to mind.
