I’m shocked at how much these pieces went for! It’s only four years later and I know each piece has to be at least quadruple the price!!!

I don’t like her😂 She made reference more than once that she is not into garments simply because a star wore it. She emphasized this again and said “it’s about the style.” Followed by “forget these belonged to Olivia Newton John, it’s about the design”…Lies. It is okay to admit you enjoy owning pieces and admiring pieces owned by old Hollywood celebrities. Then she mentioned about a designer and stated “sadly, he passed away from AIDS.” Would she have said: sadly he died from COPD if he had actually died of COPD? Why the reference to how he died at all?

I still love my LV reverse monogram COPYMAXS clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic. upcoming trip and am so excited to have it. It only took a few days to get here, so the shipping was fast. I highly recommend it and will buy again. It also makes a great gift

I so wish Doris's extraordinary amount of knowledge and her enthusiastic yet serious personality would fuel a new program on Netflix-- the show she had years ago on the Smithsonian Channel was far too short lived. She's got sooooo much to offer about a timeless, enchanting subject: vintage fashion, design and historical costume making/stylinlg/curating. I've learned so much from her and her staff at The Way We Wore, it's a real education. Just thrilling. Netflix please consider making an educational mature series about vintage fashion, history, construction of garments etc, for serious-minded adults instead of producing some immature reality show (or a sanctimonious documentary about fast fashion or socio politics). This niche area of interest is for everybody. Loved this clip, love everything to do with this store, the staff, Doris herself.

Thank you for your very kind and generous comments. I would enjoy doing something like that but it’s been about 10-12 years since our last episode on Smithsonian. But you know- it’s not over until it’s over so let’s see what the universe has in store. Wishing you all the best! Doris

@@thewaywewore7371 Thank you Doris. I wish you nothing but the best and sincerely hope Netflix or Amazon 'slide into your DMs', as the kids say. I'll certainly remain vigilant and enthusiastic in my scanning of the horizon, so to speak. There's a real gap in the land of info-tainment when it comes to this subject and everything associated with it. We in the West NEED something like this to remain free of sectarian politics, thus uniting and cheering us all. Together. 🙏💖✨✨✨

What I want to say is that I spent less than $ 100 from the fake LV I bought from a aunt HIDUPZ . The quality is very good. I spent four years on the plane, the bus, and anywhere. As a rag. I specially smelled the bag and compared the stitching color. This is the most authentic I have ever seen. To this day, this bag is still very strong. Although it has been abused, the material is still great.

Personally, anything that's made before the 1940s should be bought as archival pieces for fashion studies as some garments are too fragile to be put on a body. Particularly silk, tulle, net, and chiffon should be stored in archival boxes away from light and dirt and dust. If the dress was restored and stabilized is my one exception for wearing an Edwardian gown.
