It sounds like the audio is not from the studio mics. The vocals are hard to hear. I wonder if an audio track is available that could be stitched into the video.

Our crew can change out 150 ties and have them spiked nipped and tamped before lunch. I’m not knocking this video because idk if he is still learning but we be getting it out here. Be safe y’all.

The 765 was built for World War II, On December 7th 1941 Pearl Harbor was attacked and the railroads immediately answered the call for war and ordered many locomotives to help the military traffic including no 765.

A lot easier when you have an open shoulder like this, not so much when the ties are flush with the ground on both sides. I had an operator on a high rail grapple truck that could do 200 ties a day. He could even pull the spikes out with that thing, and squeeze some ballast underneath the new tie afterwards. Still need laborers to replace the tie plates and spike it up again.

I think Tim Crouch did a pretty good job operating the tie-handler. Heck, I have difficulty operating a standard tractor backhoe without screwing something up 😁. I enjoyed watching Tim do his thing on the Case. Full-watch. Based from reading several comments, apparently other operators must feel they can do better. They're a tough crowd. Thanks for the video. 👍🏽🤠 7/29/22

That Train IS NOT running properly. My Dad started out on the steamers at the rail road in 1950 and was an Engineer. He always got mad when they showed steamers with black smoke belching from the stack as if thats how they ran. He said at best there should be small amounts of white steam going out the stack.... He said they do this on purpose for the dramatic effect... :/

I kinda liked it. There were two contemporary diesel locomotives among the cars 765 was pulling without effort. I thought that spoke not only to the excellence of the restoration but also to the care and precision that went into the design. These locomotives are nearly a century old; they were meant to be workhorses, hauling massive amounts of freight across great distances at speed. And, it is clear now, they were meant to last. What a testament to the American designers of the mid 20th century. Wow.
