Supervision aka 121 at my gaff is intense. I've seen ppl come out of their meetings crying. Work really never been so harsh life's too short

I totally disagree with the other comments below. This is what we call an informed consent conversation in which the supervisor explains what supervision is and sets the parameters for it. Supervision is not therapy. There are times when it is supervisor led, and the first 10-15 minutes of the very first supervision conversation would be one of those times. Though each of us may do some aspects of this conversation differently, it is entirely appropriate. I find this video a helpful teaching tool.

Session was focussed on the supervisor....what the supervisor wanted and what her perspective of what supervision is rather than asking the supervisee what she thought supervision was about. Also, the supervisor told the supervisee what the supervisee should get out of supervision. She contradicted herself in saying that an agenda is preferred but if something more pressing comes up the agenda goes out the window. But when the supervisee brought up the PAR the supervisor discounted it and put it aside rather than addressing the need when it was raised by the supervisee.

Yep. In my opinion, this was not good practice. Professional supervision is supposed to be supervisee led without an agenda carried out by the supervisor. This seems like more of a clinical approach. If this is what professional supervision was, I'd run.
