I'd love to see you go over at worlds end and give it the same treatment regardless of how long the vid is. I've seen a lot of videos on this franchise and never seen someone break down the music in a thorough and concise way so If a at worlds end video comes out and it's a hour long I will be like a happy giddy kid on Christmas.

Jack ... For more than 30 years I've searched for music software to DO what I wish it to do, and I hope you will read this long message and point me in the right direction. I started with Cubase when I had to load it from cassette tape! It was actually easier to use back then. Cubase 11 that I have now is just too darned complex. I have Dorico 5 Elements, but it is equally complex and super tedious. I just tried ScoreCloud that comes amazingly close. SO HERE IS MY GOAL DREAM MUSIC SOFTWARE. I wish to play my Genos with "feeling", send the MIDI to my DREAM MUSIC SOFTWARE, then move the bars left or right here and there to get the notes into the correct measures. Dorico is truly powerful, but one cannot simply "play" into Dorico and expect anything others could read and play from the score. I could go on, but I believe you already know what my DREAM MUSIC SOFTWARE looks like and that you will point me in the right direction.

So until Acoustic Samples releases a flute library, is there one from another developer that you feel blends well with the combination of VWinds Double Reeds and VWinds Clarinets? Maybe Musical Sampling's Gabrielle Flute? Others?

I kind of find videos like this funny. So many words said about a score that hinges on a track composed by Zimmer for a whole different movie. The potc hook is literally a section of the score from the Gladiator when they fight in the forest.

As a composer, you will have ideas ingrained in you and you will draw upon not only your influences but yourself as well. Hans wrote his demo track in 2 days (the original track in sure is titled ‘Pirates Day One 4:53am’ or something like that) and the team had less than 5 or 6 weeks to write the entire score to the first film. In context, John Williams’ ‘Auction at Hotel L’Antique’ from Indiana Jones 5 is a direct quote of his ‘Adventures of Tin-Tin’ “The Duel” theme. One might have many influences, but the biggest will be yourself.

@@JackMcKenzieComposer this only tells me that a lot of the master scorers are very self referential. Which of course is better than taking someone elses music. But the fact remains, Zimmer kind of lopped his own stuff for a couple of years.

Hi Jack, Thank You for making this video, that shows the Acoustic Samples VWinds Library. Their Double Reed Wind Instruments. It's quite impressive how much detail in the sound the mono/close mics offer, and they sound great once you put them in the Teledex stage using the Berlin Studio effects Plugin. I haven't yet purchased this library. I might do so in the near future. I'm also curious if there are advantages of using them with a MPE controller like the ROLI Seaboard 2. I'm not sure if the UVI Player is MPE compatible. I need to check on those details. The real big challenge for Acoustic Samples is when they begin developing the Strings. Be they Solo, or Section. I wish them a lot of luck, and lots of good ideas to tackle this. I'm also curious how this library compares i.e. Audio Modeling SWAM Solo Woodwinds, and Sample Modeling Solo Woodwinds. Also looking forward to the release of Acoustic Samples Woodwinds (VFlutes). and (VStrings). Oh.. on a final note. I wish you played some legato, slower melodic lines to show how the legato, and expressiveness of these double reeds sounds in that kind of phrasing, most of your demos were using very short articulations. Cheers, Muziksculp
@snarf1504
@snarf1504 Жыл бұрын
Regarding your final note: I'm only 10 minutes in but everything he has played so far has been in a legato style. Also, short note demos are actually good because that is historically something that modelled libraries have struggled with.
@muziksculp2r
@muziksculp2r Жыл бұрын
Hi@@snarf1504 , Yes, That's true. I wasn't very clear. I meant the short demo tracks he has recorded already are mostly playing shorter notes. Not much longer legato style. But, He does play Legato style when he plays the VWind Instrument/s in realtime to show the instruments in the beginning earlier part of the video. Thanks.
@JackMcKenzieComposer
@JackMcKenzieComposer Жыл бұрын
@@snarf1504yup - this is what I wanted to really push and show off. For me, as you’ve said, short articulations are the hardest to capture truthfully to the instrument on sample modelling based instruments, specifically due to the programmed attack on the note. Hopefully these three demos were able to show that this library isn’t phased (pardon the pun) or challenged by this!

What do you mean by Sample Modeling Solo Woodwinds? I'm only aware of brass and strings from them, but I'd certainly want to look into woodwinds from them if they have any.
@muziksculp2r
@muziksculp2r 10 ай бұрын
@@sashakindel3600 OH.. sorry, that's a mistake. Yeah, Sample Modeling do not have Woodwinds, so ignore that part of my post above. I think Sample Modeling mentioned they don't have plans to develop Woodwinds. Not sure why, given it would make a lot of sense for them to develop them.

Haven’t watched the whole video yet, but what about Klaus Badelt, didn’t he make the score for the original film, or am I missing something?
@JackMcKenzieComposer
@JackMcKenzieComposer Жыл бұрын
I’m sure Hans was attached to another film and couldn’t do the first one because of this. So he wrote the original thematic ideas (which you can find his original demo called ‘Pirates Day One’) and Klaus and a few others at RCP wrote the music for the first film.

hello friend, for composition of epic soundtrack, or lord of the rings type, which would be better? jxl brass, cinebrass or berlin brass? which would be better sound and reality?
@JackMcKenzieComposer
@JackMcKenzieComposer Жыл бұрын
If anything, a mixture of these 3 great libraries would get you this result. As well as the technical aspects of any library, it’s important to know the room they were recorded in too. Cinebrass was recorded in LA so has a very Hollywood sound - nice, rich warm sounds. The true legato solo and a2 horns are fantastic as well as the 12 horn patch. JXL is bittier, more processed and a bit more snappy. The trombones and low brass from this library are spectacular. Berlin Brass is a mixture of the in between. Not only can you get those super loud brassy sounds, the rich almost chorale like sounds can be achieved as well. Plus Berlin brass recorded all players individually plus a section patch so you have a lot of realism.
