There are mods where you can build a chest that scraps junk.

I know this was six years ago, but I've just started playing the game and keep picking everything up like a little loot goblin. Takes forever to unload and sort out. This is fantastic! Wish there was a build guide so I can build this in my playthrough. Great work sir, absolutely amazing.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I have considered making some brand new builds, as they released the PS5 update for FO4. It's finding the time.

Man, all these factories and builders seem like such a waste of time. The work bench already sorts things for you, no? So now instead of just scrolling through your items you have to physically run to each location of the item, lol. These factories, while kinda fun to build, are completely useless.

the complexity of this and the sheer size of the operation is awe-inspiring.. all I can do I shake my head.. awesome job..
@PSMiuraАй бұрын
Thanks. What can I say, I'm a little crazy with it. And also pushed the build limit for all these.

my suggestion for the stuff dumped on the floor would be to have it dumped outside onto the ground.. that way you don't scrap your floor on accident.. and may I add.. OMFG that thing is EPIC lmao.. I want one...

To everyone saying “What’s the point”, (including the creator, who says it’s only for fun and to organize components to take to other settlements), there is an actual legit reason to pull out all the junk from the workshop. Food and water too, as it turns out, and for the same reason. Settlers that scavenge and farm will generate new stuff for you, and deposit it in the workshop. Same for water purifiers. But there’s a threshold for how much of each is in storage, after which, no more stuff is generated. They deposit their stuff daily. They can deposit their entire daily haul, even if if it’s over the threshold, but no more will be added the next day. You literally need to empty the workshop regularly if you want more free resources to be generated. In early game, this generated stuff comes in handy, but particularly so for junk, because settlers will regularly deposit rare items. Like Military Ammo Bags. Or Antifreeze Bottles. Stuff that can take a long time to find, they’re continually finding for you. Personally, I would streamline this creator’s Factory. All of the component conveyor storage could be consolidated into one. For instance. My current method involves just a single hopper. I load all my junk into it. After a couple quests, i turn it on, over a nice empty, uncluttered and unscrappable surface, and it drops everything in a pile. Just start mashing scrap buttons, and it’s over fast. Important next step is to then remove the components from the workshop, and store away separately. So that new stuff is generated. It’s kind of a pain. Not going to lie. I scrap everything manually. And then every time i want to build/craft/cook, i have to take out, then put back, the parts. I’m not sure how with the effort is. Maybe only early game will the extra rare junk really help. The extra purified water, too. I’m able to get Ballistic Fiber much earlier than normal, and have asbestos lined or padded armor at low level.

I have an idea for that sorting facility, as an addon. ever thought of say sending broken down junk or scrap to another facility to create weapons, ammo, armor and power armor or even fusion cores?
@gamepad3173 Жыл бұрын
I'd take that a step further with that sorting facility and have a facility that makes weapons, ammo, armor and power armor from the broken down junk. the rest would go back into the workshop say for building more stuff from the Sim settlements 2 mod. the weapons, ammo, armor and power armor would be stored in a armory that the soldiers would access, the General included. since the General would have his own house in Sanctuary hills (so would the Sole Survivor among other companions). Then just use the now working postal service to ship any excess weapons, ammo, armor and power armor to other settlements to sort into their armories and what not. yes that includes knives since I remember soldiers in the military tend to use knives when they run out of ammo in their guns.

If you can't build anymore in Your settlement the thing you need to do first is drop your weapons and then store them that will bring the space limit down when you do that you'll have more space to be able to build some more and that's pretty much it that's all I have to tell you remember drop your weapons on the floor then take the weapons and store them in the workshop then you can get them again anytime remember press store not scrap

I just started playing Ark and it's exciting how much creative freedom is available to us once the survival aspect is under control.
@frozentspark21052 жыл бұрын
I cringe whenever I see one of these builds because the amount of resources that are used is astronomical. It's nowhere near worth it. Not every build is efficient. This one is not. It's all about using as few resources as possible in order to make whatever your making to keep the operating costs low. This...is just a waste. Just saying
@Kspice90002 жыл бұрын
If you want to lower your build limit just drop a shit load of modded weapons from enemies. Scrap in edit mode and watch it drop

The museum that I'm building in ark has a organization thing the first level is herbivores the second level is carnivores the third level is other extinct animals the fourth level will be aquatic animals and the fifth level will have all the flying creatures and there will be no duplicates in the museum that is I have like several duplicates of animals in my inventory but I'm not going to place down any duplicates unless they are like tech creatures and that's the only time I will be putting down a duplicate in fact I think I'm thinking of putting in like a part of the museum that's like a lab where people are building tech dinosaurs and other tech creatures it's going to be awesome but I should probably kind of customize my walls though I mean like I have pillars on the inside to look like they are supporting the roof and let's be honest pillars always make everything look better but I feel like I shouldn't just put like window frames I feel like I should put in like a full-blown greenhouse wall like you did cuz a lot of the time in my builds I just use window frames with greenhouse windows I usually don't use greenhouse walls I should start using those a lot in big builds especially museums actually this museum that I'm building is actually the first museum that I've ever built and I'm not even near finished yet though I haven't finished the carnivore yet

How is it possible to build like this? If i want to build anything its allways cant place this here or shit just floating
@PSMiura2 жыл бұрын
It is a problem to place lots of things. For example, seems some bases can clip the terrain and others don't. Frustrating. You can use the auto-snap of some objects to cheat it, place a base that works (even if not what was wanted) snap the other walls to it, then delete and replace the original base. You can also build objects inside some blocks, see my Christmas video for hidden wiring in the concrete. Still, FO4 could have done with an option to override it, like Ark did.

I used the vault components. I love it because I can place a big hopper on a lower level and the the edge snaps by itself in the Atrium floor. All the machinery that are higher are place on the highest level with the atrium pieces.
@PSMiura2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! Atrium stuff is good to use, I used it quite a lot in some other builds.

Okay, but why do this at all? Why spend the caps for generators, a warehouse, and all the factory stuff? How does it advance the game?
@PSMiura2 жыл бұрын
It's just for fun and something interesting to build. No need to sort inventory as such, but it can be fun to do so. It also drags in collected items from other settlements, like food.
