why is it 90 percent of Traders fail. YET 90 percent of "SUCCESSFUL" traders are on you-tube making videos. LoL.
@Colm_UTM11 күн бұрын
Hey Bob! Not sure what your definition of "success" is so I don't know if I meet it, but I'm just a guy trying to improve my PnL every year. I try and find traders with track records that have been around a long time and that communicate well in the hope they'll share some insights that help me and the audience along their way. But definitely some bluffers on KZbin so agree with you there because finding guests I'm willing to interview is not easy! Happy trading. Colm

Hey Leo! Great to hear you enjoyed it and got some practical tips out of it. I think most of the info on fundamental and technical analysis is out there somewhere for free online, but I found working with a coach / mentor is great for implementing and staying on the right track!

If you ever wanted to find a reason to give up trading, you’ll find it here. I understand that he wants to keep it real, but man, this was almost depressing. I had to go watch some Jim Roppel to regain some optimism.

Hey, thanks for the comment! It was a little heavy at times, but I think his views aren't completely negative. For me, they were hard to hear at first, but quite realistic and opened a door into potentially a better approach for my own trading. Didn't know Jim Roppel but I've watched a couple of his videos after your comment, thanks for sharing that!

Hey, not sure actually. But he manages money institutionally so I suspect they are quite stringent on verifying performance before allocating.

What about taking a very short term short (like 10 mins) on a same day expiration option, based on supply and demand and pre set price levels from your technical analysis?
@Colm_UTM2 ай бұрын
Hey Mav, it's not a strategy I use so I can't comment in detail. If you think it's got an edge one approach could be to backtest it to understand the strategy (pinescript is handy for this), forward test it on minimal capital, and scale up gradually.

Tom is great. Market newbies think successful traders are super busy during the day but often times the opposite is true. I especially like how calm Tom is, I have learned that from him which is crucial to trading imo.

I've done ok trading since 1998 and I was a heroin addict for 15 years. I avoid shorting because it's addictive for sure when you're right. Problem of course is if you get it wrong but keep hanging on, which is what I tend to do. Having said that it's nowhere near as addictive as heroin lol. It's been 11 years since I shot heroin and about 8 since I went shorts. I never have vivid dreams about shorting, but I still do about heroin.
@Colm_UTM2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Brandon and your openness! I think it was a bit of hyperbole by Jason to get his point across, but thanks for putting it to bed!! 🤝
@Brandon-nh7hw2 ай бұрын
@@Colm_UTM I know it was hyperbole. Here's something interesting, at least I find it interesting.... overcoming addiction and overcoming shit trading have a lot in common. Paradoxically the "dedication" required to be a serious drug addict is very similar to the dedication it will require to succeed in trading. I would never touch dope again, but at the same time I wouldn't undo it either because the experience, both as an active addict and in recovery have ultimately made me a better person and trader.

Unless they can snap their fingers and get back all those female children they unalived and then at the same time get their replacement rate reproduction under control really really quickly, the whole of the Southeast will become nearly insignificant compared to Indian and South American cultures. Selling of resource access and making themselves niche technologies to sell instead of stealing them will become the floor of the day.
