Phase 5 Trident. Just make sure you get the 60" version. They ran a 58 for a few years. It's an awesome board. Mine is 9 years old and in perfect shape.

I don't have a video of it but you need to remove the main grommet and pull the wires through. Inside there is a connector you can disconnect.

I used Valspar DTM2004. I have a previous video on that. It works well. Endura has a lot of primer options as well. Delta Sealer is one I've heard good things about.

I was lame enough to stoke the far side of my 40x 40 garrages wood heater.then close it down.raise the shop door just above my fan. Which no longer runs. It was a large belt driven fan.30 inch i guess. Id block the roll up door on either side of the fan.

Only thing i would have changed would be removing the sill plate and adding cripples every other stud sistering them together all the way to the new bottom...or better yet osb plywood the inside wall with glue and screws.

im using the same primer on my celica 1977. what i would do when blocking, after hitting raw metal stop. Finish up the panel, and filler or prime again to reblock. spot primer-ing it then blocking to blend would even work if time/money does not allow for more primer. I would only wetsand when body filler or metal is all covered and not exposed. your DA sanding method to even out the scratches makes good sense but only if the surface is 100% to your liking ready to up the next grit or lay primer/sealers

Good point about wet sanding the bondo. I've done it several times with no issues, but it's not something I should be doing. Even after this surfacing activity, the resulting panel was still wavy. I should have done it 2 or 3 times to make it perfect. Older vehicles have just had so much living.....

The method should work. As long as you reinforce the structure a bit, those bottle jacks will lift an incredible amount of weight. You could do three cross beams to be safe. You can order custom LVL beams in whatever size you want. Since I did this, I came up with all sorts of improvements. For example, you could lift from the outside.... you could lift off the roof.... you could use an automotive 4 post lift.... So many options. It's not as scary as it seems.

John, glorious afternoon greetings. Thank you for your video and it brought me info I need as that is what is important. I've never used one of these and at the rental shop today I showed them a picture and unfortunately the worker didn't have the info, but said his partner would. I had a slab poured with a hump of about 3/4 of an inch needing removal, but it goes for I reckon at least 20 feet and about 6 foot wide - yes, never use that guy again and don't recommend them. Certainly! I would anticipate if that took you 1 1/2 hours my project will be a very full day and I'll have a sore back at the end of it? Really not much else one can do except jack hammer and don't want to possibly hurt the integrity of the slab. Thank you and God bless! Hoping you're liking that floor you put in. I've installed a few of them for clients and they are amazingly durable to a degree.

I have a super humpy unflat slab! Think my big shop vac doesn't suck enough - oh well! Padded gloves would be really good to wear - maybe my lifting at the gym gloves as I have blisters forming on the palm of hand.

I had occasionally watched the Lakeside guy. He’s about as far as you can get from restoration type work though. And he uses that one K glazing potty like you and the one K primer. To each their own. My one comment that might help you out is that those long blocks are meant to be mostly used in a straight line but not a complete straight line because they dig scratches but you want to go side to side or the X pattern as little as possible, otherwise you’ve turned an 18 inch block into a 3 inch block that’s just really wide. Your work will get better when you do.

Yup, great advice. Thanks for the comment. In the heat of the moment it's easy to forget your goal isn't eliminating the guide coat. Your goal is even and consistent perpendicular blocking. I've only ever used the Valspar, so I'm quite un-informed about what other products work like. I think if you do this every week, you'd benefit from a re-useable product. For me, this is only my second ever job, so I am okay working with the harder 2k primer from Valspar (and the higher price).

That’s a good point. I actually wasn’t setting out to make a video on this issue. It was sort of after the fact I realized this issue wasn’t well covered on KZbin so I cobbled together some stills and some video fragments I had been using to diagnose. As for the parts I just went to my local auto parts store and they sold me what I needed. I didn’t use any brand names on this one.

Here we have pressure treatment , which contacts concrete. When I read 21 I expected 24. Three courses of cement blocks. Was surprised at more wood. But your right, it not my property, and maybe it in desert south west

Around here every home is built with wood on concrete. And yes it's fairly arid here. The old sill was fine after 30 years as you can see. 21" came from the panel width of a new garage door. I actually wish I had lifted to 24" for the vehicle lift.

Gets the job done. I've watched other videos where they raise the roof which in the end is a lot less work. You don't need to change the door locations and the windows. Why did you choose this technique just wondering?

I think I've answered this a few times. But basically I needed the higher door opening to fit my boat in, so that was the primary reason. In the end, I think I disproportionally weighted that requirement. Either way would work. As a side benefit, having my windows higher up has been nice. It gets the sun in better in the winter, and it allows the walls to be more useable for "garage stuff". In one of my comments here somewhere I pondering using my 4 post lift to lift the roof. That would have been a neat video.

Each of the 6 panels are stand alone. I stack the 4 8x8s together and I stack the 2 10x8s together. Kinda like books on a shelf. Then I move each stack outside and put between my garage and the fence. Unfortunately the plastic did not survive the elements over 3 years of sun, wind and ice. I think I would have been better off with 6 mil plastic. Perhaps something UV protected. OR I could wrap them in a tarp. The filters you have will remove the particulates, but you need an activated charcoal filter along with it, to remove the hazardous materials.

Great video thank you! Has anyone ever experienced dirty water comming out of knock sensor drain? It drained clear.. but I went in there with a little brush and cleaned it out and all this black settlement came out…. Is that normal? Oil? Dirt?

I've never had that. But it makes sense that if you suck up some dirt/mud on the lake it will end up passing through your cooling system. A lot of other boats have a sea strainer for that reason. I wouldn't worry about it.

From what I understand, getting "old school" boats to crab in the water is the most important thing besides displacement(ballast). Try putting the suck gate up towards the middle of the boat's length, then add the short/tall gate back to the rear with a medium deflection wedge and a little bit of angle so that as the boat is pitched in the water, the deflector is either straight vertical or still slightly leaned forward. Also, skew the suck gate cups so that it's as angled down/forward into the water as possible for the same reason. Lastly, only use front ballast to clean up the wave, otherwise run as little as possible to get more height and push.
