Yep. You CANNOT get the Byme-A or the Byme-D stabilizers to do the required "Level Calibration" UNLESS they can see the FULL stick output ranges of Rudder and Throttle -100% (1000usecs) and Aileron and Elevator +100% (2000usecs) AND the receiver output is in AETR order. I think that the Byme-A must have ch 7 in the Throttle Armed position and both the A and D should be in the Manual Switch Positions.

I think something either wears down or burns out internally. I had similar problem with one micro tx. It would bind, but the crossfire lua wouldn't load or wouldn't show all of the data. I have tried with different open tx versions, eu or non eu, tried to downgrade to older crossfire software, checked Betaflight if everything is checked correctly but nothing has helped. If you have a possibility, try to put a tx from your friend and look if it helps. My friend's did work perfectly, so I have replaced mine as it was new at that time. Now, a few years later I am experiencing the same problem. I am waiting for my friends module to arrive again and I guess it will be the same story again, but this time my tx's warranty has expired, which will probably leave me either with trying to tear it up and look of any sign of wear/burn and try to fix it or buy a new one. I guess TBS hasn't the best QC. I had recently a Unify Pro 5g8 V3 go into smoke. It turned out - common issue - they have faulty regulators on them. After those unpleasent issues I had with TBS I am slowly looking to try Express LRS instead... Wish you all good luck with overcoming this problem!

Same problem here. I updated Tx module to latest FW, restored Rx to its "golden FW", updated remote to EdgeTx, too. After these, it successfully bound to the Rx again (updated automatically) then was able to use it for 2 days, then on the 3rd, got into failsafe while I was flying. Now I'm back to square 1.

It actually had nothing to do with pins. I just downgraded the firmware in the TBS unit and the problem went away... not sure why the new latest firmware did not work. Maybe it has something to do with a conflict with the radio firmware. Anyhow, I am not touching it anymore cause it works now!

This is strange! Definitely contact TBS and get an RMA request. This module is defective, the problem is, many others are experiencing the same issue so it must be a QC problem. They claim it's either bent pins (not always the case), sd card needs to be replaced or improper installation of the chip which does not apply to those with tx16s or similar radios.
@look2christ777
@look2christ777 3 жыл бұрын
These modules are crap, something is up with the internal pin connector on them. I have the same issue and the only way to get it working is to make sure the pins are absolutely straight and once they are and it flashes orange, try not to remove it again unless you absolutely have too. I contacted TBS about this, this is a common problem if you look around forums/reddit.
@StephanFilms
@StephanFilms 3 жыл бұрын
ya... i looked at the pins and it is not that. It happens as soon as I stop touching the unit or if I am less than 1 inch away with my fingers. It seeems to be a rf issue with any firmware above 3.78. I reinstalled firmware 3.78 and the problem goes away. weird, eh?

I used TBS AGENT X to test if I could bind it. It worked when the USB is plugged in, I would bind it using Agent X, then i would power on the transmitter, and disconnect the usb cable, and all would work fine. This only happen when i power on the unit normally when it is in the JR module bay of my radiomaster. I will have to try the factory reset i guess tonight and see if that helps on the crossfire.

Note for anybody coming here looking for information on this stabilizer (for Delta Wings only.) Check manual here... radiolink.com.cn/doce/UploadFile/ProductFile/BymeDManual.pdf Things to note about this stab (and the Byme-A for T-tail planes only.) 1...This will work with any Tx/Rx pair that outputs a minimum of 7 channels on S-bus or PPM (the stab will auto-detect which is presented.) However the channel output order must be A, E, T, R, plus channel 5 assigned to a 3-position Mode Switch and channel 7 assigned to a 2 position Motor Arming Switch. If your Tx/Rx normally outputs a different order (eg T, A, E, R for Spectrum) you must be able to remap the outputs to the required A, E, T, R. 2....If you have to remap the channel order the stick positions for "Level Calibration" will probably be different. The ones in the manual are for the Radiolink Tx/Rx combo. If they don't work for your combo you will have to try holding the 8 possible stick positions for 5seconds or so till you find the correct one. (For Mode 2 Tx left stick down and out or down and in with right stich to 1 of the 4 corner positions.) 3....The item 6 (Transmitter Phase Setup) direction to reverse the throttle on the Tx should only pertain to Radiolink and other Txs (like Futaba) that have this quirk. 4....Unlike the Byme-A this only has 3 mode available (5 on the Byme-A.) They are A...Stabilized (self leveling with Pitch and Roll limits) generally called Angle Mode. B...Gyro (no self leveling, no limits just correction of non-stick commanded course deflections by wind etc) generally called Rate Mode. C...Manual (no stabilizer input at all.)

Hi Stephen, in case anyone who encounters the problem like yours, I'm leaving solution here as well. First, you'll need to make sure all the servo phases are correct and the BymeD calibration can be done by pulling both joysticks to outside corners. Then check if all the surfaces work normally,When it's at Manual Mode(SWC-Down), all surfaces are neutral. When it's at Stabilize Mode(SWC-Up), surfaces move a bit and are able to auto correcting. Last, ff the surfaces don't performe correctly, please press the button on the Byme-D to reverse. Feel free to send mails to after_service@@t if there's any more doubt.

Did you get yours going Kyle? Apparently most of the problems stem from the fact that, while it no doubt works for their own Tx/Rx combos, when you use a different Tx/Rx combo with S-bus or PPM output, the stick positions for entering calibration change from the manual usage of both down and out. For my TX16S/Turnigy-iA6C combo it was (mode 2 Tx) left stick down and out right stick up and out. Someone else quoted both down and right - no idea of their combo. Experiment with all possible permutations of sticks to corners. (Remember to hold each for 5 seconds or so before moving on to the next.) Once you've got the calibration to work you can use the button on the stab to correct the stabilization movement directions.

Interesting temporary fix but you're restricting fresh airflow into your cabin. This will cause stale air, fog or frost up inside of windows. Remove fastener, seal hole, move fastener to a new nearby location if you can. Might require drilling a hole but plan location site better than Subaru did! Lol!
