Hi Mike, the boat in this series of videos is Lightning, a syndicate boat based at Broom Boats in Brundall. In some other videos we are on Thunder which is also a syndicate boat based at Horning Pleasurecraft.

Hi Stevie, thanks as always for sticking with me. I did some footage when myself and Christine popped down for a couple of days at the end of July. It was really to meet with the engineer to discuss what we need at winter maintenance but we managed a couple of days on the river. I might post some short clips of the trips to take us up to our next trip in October.

Hi Daz, I agree Far Horizon is better suited to the Southern rivers. Don't they have another similar boat too? They were supposed to be redeveloping the marina at Horning but I wonder if that has been put on hold now. We are down on the 12th of October so just miss you. Have a great time and let me know if there are any floods like last year.

I think after buying Broom boats a few things might be put on hold you never know.. hope you and the famliy had a great holiday..

Hi Dave , we have been to the Coldham Inn on more than one occasion, lovely place , lovely location, great fishing there as well , but it doesn't seem very popular , wonder why that is , any ideas .

I would have just told him to piss off. We had the same at Reedham a good few years ago. We were going upriver on a flood tide doing 4mph and were shouted at to slow down. He didn't like our reply 😂😂😂

I had the same at Reedham many years ago. Going with a fast-ebbing tide, the guy came out of his hut with a loud hailer and said 'Alpha Vulcan you have lost your water skier' cheeky *+--* 😂😂

Hi Stevie, if Christine watches my videos she has controlled herself admirably. The ranger was coming out of the yacht station office, saw us and told me to slow down. He must have an inbuilt sat nav speedo which is prone to malfunction like mine. 😂

The problem beyond Bishop bridge Dave is mooring. Basically none, especially by any pubs. Paddle board or canoe and you’re okay , ain’t happening 😂

Hi Joe, we called in the Ribs of Beef last year and they had just finished their quay heading. Problem is you can tie up if nobody else is there but you have to climb a ladder to get off the boat. Not good with my knees and grandkids. 😂 I wouldn't mind a short cruise up and back though if there's no obstructions.

If he was a handbag dog would be no problem but he’s 40kgs 🤣🤣🤣. Nice pub ribs of beef but we like the Wig and Pen, always made welcome Cheers

We now have 2 back to back shares in Moonlight Shadow, so going to be down more often and having at least 2 weeks at a time. Look forward to seeing you and Christine out on the water sometime soon. We havent been told off yet though....😂😂

You can film anything/anyone from a public footpath. Don't mention fishing, kinda conflicted on that one, own dogs and given the fact fish can feel pain can't get around the fact the hook has to go through their mouths.

Hi Stevie, I was aware of the guy who drowned at Wroxham Broad and the one who fell off the back of a boat at Yarmouth Yacht Station and one on the Wensum at Norwich. Whilst not on the Broads there was a drowning off Brancaster Beach which I only found by searching on Google.

Sadly it's every year someone loses their lives on the Broads and a lot of times it could be avoided. Accidents happen of course and its easy to relax and enjoy things and safety isn't always top of the list.

Hey Dave!!! Why do people with no idea of the law surrounding public photography always insist on telling other people what they think they can and can't do??? I've had experience of it on more than one occasion!!! I would always try to explain the law but they rarely ever listen!!! My reply is then identical to yours!!! Great vids as usual!!! 👍

@@StevesRepairs Hi Stevie, I fished uninterrupted by children but very much interrupted by a Swan for about an hour and caught seven or eight fish. Only three which I had to use the landing net which were decent Perch.

Thanks Dave for taking us along on this lovely but rainy cruise, my first wage was £11.50 a week then it went up to 17.75 when I was 17yrs old but I left that job to start as an apprentice Practical Jeweller and started at £9.75 which I gave to my mum but she gave me all my bus fares and some spending money etc, so I was always indebted to her until I started to earn a lot more. There was one occasion after we’d moored overnight at the Commissioner’s Cut when we forgot about our mud weight until we were passing Bramerton (whoops). When we did haul it up there was some navy material wrapped around the mud weight. Turned out to be a pair of long johns. How the heck did they end up on the bottom of the river! Lol.

Dave love your video's I understand you prefer steering from the upper position. May I with respect suggest a position for the camera while steering fro the lower position to give you line of sight. This would enable watchers ro share your view rather than the top of the cockpit and very little else.

@@AllenTaylor-n2e Hi Allen, I don't like steering from the lower helm and more so filming. It's difficult to see what the camera sees with a 2 inch screen whilst steering. I sometimes put my other Gopro on top but when I'm switching from top to inside it's not possible as my crew are too busy doing crew things. 🤣🤣
