Every drummer is secretly jealous of the bassist and the bassist is jealous of the drummer.

Dear Elias, I am currently building my theoretical knowledge as a beginner teacher of light music piano. I studied classical piano for 6 years and then light music for 3 years, played in bands, and performed on stage. I have also worked with children as a caregiver. Currently, I am also learning to sing. I am writing from Hungary, where music education is often taught with outdated and dry materials. I plan to teach privately, using similar methods to yours, which help foster children's love for music and encourage creativity. I can relate much better to the Western approach to education than the traditional Hungarian one. What would you advise a beginner piano teacher? What kind of exercises should I use? Where can I find materials? I want to develop not only the children's knowledge of the instrument but also their thinking with music. Thank you in advance for your response!

Amazing! It sounds like there's a great opportunity for you to teach lessons that kids will really enjoy. You can start by finding some of your favorite beginner piano learning books (on Amazon or Sweetwater), then teach the method from the books in a fun way. You can create your own worksheets, student journals and practice calendars (use Canva to create these) that go with the learning method. The key to keeping kids learning is to be engaging with them and keep them having fun. The method of learning might be similar but it's how you teach and how you motivate your students that will make a big difference! Try making fun reward systems and making learning into a game, maybe have a learning map that you create. We hope this helps!

im 12 and i need cheap drums which will last. They´ll need to be acoustic and a bit bigger. Stagg Tim Jr 5/16B are too small for me (i think so)

I have keyboard at home. Dint know how to play im 40 now and I'm so excited to be following your class with my 3yr old. Today we did my first piano lesson and twas a jam. Thank you so much. I tried when I was 10 and I remember how traumatic this lesson was for me. The tr would be shouting c press c to 'I am C, song' and I would just start shaking as he shouts where did I say d is then get c. Somehow I missed that lesson on how to locate D. Thank you for wonderful videos. My 3tr old just watched the video twice, we went in the keyboard and she located d easily

Check out some of the new ones, they've solved those issues! Especially Roland and Alesis. They feel and sound great. Lot's of dynamic range and great, authentic drums sounds.

Looking for my son who is 8. But I’m also interested in learning. Any recommendations for adults? Will the lessons work for me as well? 😊

@mariebo7491 Our lessons will work great for any beginner, including adults! You can use most of the sets that we recommend here but they will be a little bit on the small side for most adults. A good starter size drum set for most adults is one with a bass drum that is 18, 20 or 22 inches. You can find lots of these on Amazon. Good brands are Pearl, Yamaha, Gretsch, Ludwig and Pacific. Alesis, Donner and Roland all make great electronic kits. Send us a message on our website here: www.mymusicworkshop.com/contact-us if you'd like more detailed recommendations. Thank you!
