@Fiddlenguy Glad you appreciated the audio quality. That is not in the video software. I have to multitrack each part in my DAW - my recording software is Cubase Pro V12 but it is through my good quality mixer and audio convertors and pre amp etc - plus I use very good quality microphones through my mixer. Here is a video showing how I record and mix together a full string orchestra track - I don;t show the actual recording of the instruments - I might do a tutorial on that. Sorry to say that you will not get that quality audio or be able to multitrack (record one track at a time) in any video software - that is separate. And you won't get that quality sound from your smartphone either - you need a good quality microphone - I use a RODE NTK valve mic kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnvPpnt5lN12o9k

@@Fiddle_guy I do the video edit in iMovie - it's not a high level video editor but it does me ok - it's actually very capable if you go in depth with it. First, I edit together the 2 top frames (violin 1 and violin 2) export that then I edit together the 2 bottom frames (viola & cello) export that - then I put those 2 movies together top and bottom. Another guy used a big hose clamp around the squid pole to hold the three guy ropes, another guy used a PVC pipe with holes for the guy ropes. I like the idea about the tip, I was unsure what to do there.
@PhilRookemusic-educator
@PhilRookemusic-educator 2 ай бұрын
This was a couple of years ago. I'd be a bit concerned that a pipe clamp might put too much pressure on the fibreglass and crack it. But I watched the video of the guy that used the PVC pipe and drilled the holes for the guy ropes. That's a great idea because you can slip the mast in and out easily.
@darylcheshire1618
@darylcheshire1618 2 ай бұрын
@@PhilRookemusic-educator I had thought of cutting the PVC pipe at 45 degrees and hammer that into sand. The Coastal guy did that, there is a plastic drill for beach umbrellas that might work but I couldn’t find any to buy. I considered surf rod holders but they are too narrow. Several club members warned me to put a cloth in the bottom in case the pole collapses as this causes it to break. Also keep the pole under tension at the tip so it is bent slightly and prevents it from collapsing.

@@darylcheshire1618 I thought the same thing with the surf rod-holder. I took this setup to my hometown where I was staying by the river. Had some great contacts because the river is a great groundplane. In the local tackle shop, I found a locally made surf rod holder from metal with a spike. It's the perfect size. I can't show you a pic, I'd need to make another video. If you keep hunting in your tackle shop you might find a similar solution. Good luck

When I press return, the bar moves down instead of up leaving me with one lone bar on top, I’m really confused, can you help?
@PhilRookemusic-educator
@PhilRookemusic-educator 3 ай бұрын
Hi @gracehopkins7649 I'll try - sometimes, bars in Noteflight don;t always go where I want either. This is because Noteflight automatically places bars according to how many notes are in the bar. For example, if you have a simple melody using quarter notes and 8th notes, then it will most likely go where you want but if you have a complex drum chart with 16th note fills, then Noteflight will move it up or down according to which stave it will fit on. The best solution is to press on the "formatting" button on the top menu - then select the tab for "sizing" and move the note size down a bit. This will enable more bars to fit on each stave. Hope this helps. I might get around to making another video about this soon.

@PhilRookemusic-educator
@PhilRookemusic-educator Жыл бұрын
I'm not certain about that. I think that is because it works in crotchet units - that is, it doesn't see a unit of a minim in a bar. Just guessing. I have wondered that before but it doesn't really concern me. My other software I use is Cubase and that allows me to beam quavers in pairs or in 4's.

@@catherineforsyth874 Sorry that doesn't help. I'm a bit busy right now, otherwise, I'd have a look at it for you. I understand assessment requirements. If you're looking for free software, try Musescore - otherwise if you want the Cubase equivalent and you don't mind paying, then Dorico is the newer notation software from Steinberg. I only use Cubase becasue I do multi track recordings of the score and Cubase is a DAW as well as doing very good scoring

Loved this video. It showed me in less than 10 minutes how to get started on taking my MIDI files and making them ready for me to use in performances. It was great that you had to work around the drum machine and put your own drum beat in from Garageband. Because I now know how to get around the flaws of MIDI files: simply change the instrument and bounce the final project down to MP3.
@PhilRookemusic-educator
@PhilRookemusic-educator Жыл бұрын
Thanks Charles. I'm really glad that it helped you - not sure if I showed that in the video but yes, it is also possible to export as an MP3 file. That's a very handy format because then students can easily play that on their phones. But then they can't change the tempo as they can do with a MIDI file.
