Only just watched this. I like the fact it’s not a “professional detailing” video but more of a car owners video on how to look after your car. I prefer to start with my wheels though, as working the barrels followed by pressure washing throws up heavy dirt on the bodywork. However we all have our own methods, nice soothing video anyway

Great vid and slamming car man 👌 only thing i would change is to do your wheels first and after that the rest of your car cos if u do the wheels afterwards, contaminents of the dirty wheels will fly on ur car. U wont see it that much but those iron particles and such will contaminate your paint really badly even if u rinse it cos i dont think u soap in ur car again after doing the wheels(which would make the soaping u did in the beginning a waste of time anyways) and even with the 2 bucket method, try do not do the bottom part of the car first, this will 100% leave swirl marks.
@speedrepublic52702 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I agree on the washing - something I always do and not sure why I didn’t do the top first. Generally would depend on how dirty the car is in the first place. I’d disagree on the wheels - again depending on how dirty they are, I don’t see the harm in doing them after if their rinsed thoroughly including around the arches where said containers would ‘fly’. Cheers!
@thirst4petrol5372 жыл бұрын
@@speedrepublic5270 well after uv done the wheels and rinsed the car, spray a bit of gyeon iron on the panels around the wheels and u will see it turn red which means iron particles have contaminated the paint. @speedrepublic52702 жыл бұрын
@@thirst4petrol537 a bout of wheel cleaner will not deposit onto the car as easy as you’re making out from a simple wheel clean. As o said if the wheel is rinsed along with the body and arch around the wheel then there is nothing bonding to the car. I wouldn’t put any iron remover on it as the car is Ceramic Coated. I appreciate your view either way. 👍🏽
@thomasslee63032 жыл бұрын
I snow foam entire car including wheels. Then spray wheel cleaner on all the wheels and work it with a brush. by that point the foam has started to come off so on goes another lot including on the wheels again, and also another spray of wheel cleaner. Then I quickly use a brush on the edges, badges and plates. Then if the car is still foamy I will begin the wash, if not I snow foam again. You could call that excessive but when I buy a 5L tub, I expect to use a lot. I have two wash mitts, I do top half of car first, roughly to door handles and above plates and lights. I flip the mitt around when I do one side of the car. Then when I am doing the bottom half I switch to the 2nd mitt. My way isn't the right or wrong way. I think it really depends on the products you are using, how quickly they run/drip down, how quickly the sun is drying. In the summer I have to keep spraying the car to keep it wet whilst doing all the sections and I will keep spraying the wheel cleaner on to stop it from drying. The key thing really is keeping the car wet, and getting rid of the dirt in a top to bottom pattern. If you do the wheel whilst the body is covering in foam, then you rinse, then you won't be undoing your work because any dirt added back onto the body from the wheels will be rinsed off before you do a wash

Contact washing from bottom to top in circular motions is asking for swirls. As is putting your wheel brush on the floor to pick up grit 😬 also BH auto wheel is not PH neutral.
@speedrepublic52703 жыл бұрын
It is but with the two bucket method o don’t see the real issue. I’d probably argue poor drying methods are where most swirls are inflicted really. The wheel brush is for the backs of the wheels so if I’m honest I’m not too bothered on the barrells of the wheel - the meguairs microfiber wheel brush is more than plush to hold any grit rather than push it around the surface. BH wheels is defo PH neutral, do your research. 😁
@fozzi973 жыл бұрын
@@speedrepublic5270 Any detailer will tell you to wash top to bottom- least dirty to dirty. Are you using grit guards too? Two bucket method is somewhat pointless if you’re not doing these two things. It’s also plain stupid to put the brush on the floor and then use it on the wheel- why not just leave it in the bucket? And BH AW is not PH neutral. Look at the instructions- it tells you to avoid plastic centre caps for this very reason.
