@@HamFam2 I do apologize as this was a video put out shortly after I started creating them. I can tell you that much of the things I ordered had a very short lifespan. There was one better fabric choice, and the wall tiles were good. The needles seem to break or lose sharpness rather quickly. The snips quit working a couple months in. I did update my opinions in another video later on. I apologize once again, and thank you so much for viewing and commenting your concern❣️🌹

I just started quilting in January 2024 by taking lessons at a nearby church and then joined their quilting group which makes quilts for several charities throughout the year. I bought these block builder card deck this past December and look forward to trying some of these block designs. Your videos are a great help and inspiration to me to get started on using these block designs for my quilting project.

Would you consider thinning the glue with a bit of water? Mix completely and spray on?
@SewGrannySew13 күн бұрын
@@susanmorrison632 The gal I was watching has said she tried that, but it made the fabric pretty wet and longer drying time. I would think the spray bottle would have to be cleaned between doing the backing and the front as well to ensure the nozzle doesn't get too sticky from glue? I may have to go out on a limb and try that though🤔 Always looking for ways to improve, we are😂🤣 Thank you for viewing and great tip to think on😉
@lindafitzsimmons252613 күн бұрын
I have been using this basting method and it works well for me. I have a squeezable bottle with a long narrow tip, which gives me a steady thin flow of glue. I don’t wait for the glue to dry, once I’ve basted my entire quilt I run my iron (cotton setting) over the entire quilt using my ironing board and then take it to my sewing machine and quilt. I have not used this process on anything larger than a twin sized quilt, but can’t imagine it wouldn’t work any differently due to size of quilt. Two years using glue and love it.

@@Amritadivya Thank you for viewing❣️ I don't think I have used a regular foot for binding before? Please do let me know if and why this should not be done. I am always looking for new tips😉
@AmritadivyaАй бұрын
@@SewGrannySew A walking foot keeps all layers of the quilt moving together at the same time. Typically the layer closest to the feed dogs goes slower than the top layer which I find helpful with putting in sleeves, but can contribute to tucks and pleats on the underneath layer for quilts. But, you seemed to have no problems, so bravo to you!
@SewGrannySewАй бұрын
I guess we will have to chalk this one up as how we learned lol. I never thought of the puckering on the binding, but have encountered it when doing stitch in the ditch mid quilt. Thank you for your explanation, I truly think we grow by helping one another. ❣️🌹🥰
