Ur 4stroke main bearings are crap. I'm rebuilding my crf450r the roller side main bearing has a plastic cage where the OEM is metal. The rollers are really loose in the plastic cage. So no there not heavy duty and they are not better then OEM.

I worked at Federal Mogul for a short period making connection rods. I did not stick around as I was told it was a machinst positon and it ended up being, well, not a machinist position. Neat experience though.

Hot Rods build the Banshee/RD 350 cranks with the cheapest bearings . And this is the thing I dont understand!! A crank is good if the bearings are good!!

The country of origin of a high quality precision component is not that relevant provided that the components are created and verified to accredited standards! Taiwan leads the way in certain areas of engineering and production as does China, recognising that precision components are manufactured and verified to accredited standards is a good way of ensuring that the products will be up to specification.

We beat the snot out of these rods and cracks when racing Yamah 701 2stroke watercraft. Never saw a rod or crank failure. It was always a bearing issue, usually from a lean condition. I've seen rods punch through the cases, always an impressive sight.

Tom S Yep. That’s what I’ve been hearing. Got one for my 460 Honda. Going to be my first HR kit. Am a very good mechanic and know my shit so if it fails I’ll never go back. But I’ve got a good feeling that the kit I bought wasn’t made by the alcoholic that worked that day. Lol
