Someone noted in the comments below that a number of the houses seen in this video have washed away since this video was made. Search you tube for a video that was made a week ago or so...mid to late September 2024. I stayed in Nags Head at the Comfort Inn in 2008. It had enormous sandbags in places around the perimeter to keep the surf at bay. Since I was there it's had at least one beach replenishment but that is a costly endeavor.

Stunning work! Sarasota has grown more than I could’ve imagined! I left the state of Florida over 40+ years ago. I can truly say, it is NOTHING like it use to be. Again, this is stunning! After graduating college, I felt the state had nothing to offer a college educated African American. Now, as I see it’s phenomenal growth, I wonder if it now offers something that I can return to and call home? Beautiful, beautiful work done here! Keep up the work. Your videos are inspiring.

Agree... I finally took a trip all the way up the OBX during lockdowns. Idk they let hwy 12 go that section north of the town and built a bridge. Guess I was one of the last to travel that section.

So? Let people who can, enjoy it while they can. Your statement sounds petty and jealous.
@frankcastle52943 ай бұрын
@@nobodynothing9950 State of NC could no longer maintain 12 in that section you speak of so built bridge supports and pilings and ran 12 out around into the bay then reconnected to 12 further north.

I love this place, I dream of retiring in Frisco or Avon. I've spent many weeks of the year all through my youth in Rodanthe, an uncle had a house on Sea Oats Drive. Sadly, his house was lost 20 years ago and would easily be 100 yards past those houses being lapped by waves now.
