It’s a nice place. Siberia. But I prefer it here. Where people value brains over braun. I wouldn’t be able to cope there even if I tried. It’s a horrible life you live. I agree. To put it bluntly: you can’t afford to show off your brain power. That sort of thing thrives only in a country where people know they get three meals a day and can afford to relax a little. Good luck. Only use my city as a last resort. You’re much better than me, thriving in such horrible conditions. I can only admire from far for now

This really is a different age in so many ways,the look and to me that awful accent both were pompous,arrogant aloof and my God do they think they’re the best and that’s why from time to time even today they have to be put in their place and simplistically I call them the English establishment, if offended good, that’s my intention, WATP UK🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧

What's sad is that heavy smoking caused so many of these beautiful Hollywood actresses' voices to age prematurely. By the time they were in their 40s, their voices sounded like they were in their 70s and 80s. Actresses who didn't smoke retained their original speaking voices well into their 70s. In the case of Vivian Leigh, it is especially hard because she was just such a beautiful and charming lady.

Something about that first bit feels slightly off. She doesn’t elaborate at all. Compare to Bette Davis being asked the same question. Most people, when asked this question, would try to justify their feelings about their appearance. I don’t know if Vivien is lying, but the lack of further explanation makes me think she doesn’t mean it, and she not trying very hard to sell it.

Rhett always such a kick out of Scarlett, her theatrics, her tantrums, her flaws & shortcomings! How.could a woman not adore a guy that FINE, has a wonderful sense of HUMOR, is WEALTHY, is VERY ATTENTIVE & caters to your every WHIM? What the HELL is wrong with her? Rhett truly loved Scarlett unconditionally!!! So rare these days!!

These are all the fairy tales that Margaret made up! This does not happen in life, if you had such a guy sleeping in the next room, you would be able to just fall asleep and not come to him once in two years! Of course not! or did he not spend the night at home? Somehow the story doesn't fit !
@minhhanhdao06062 жыл бұрын
I just simply think that Scarlett only wants what she cannot have, Ashley as an example. And when she realized that Rhett is going to leave her, she decided to persuade him to stay
@valentinefontaine2752 жыл бұрын
I used to love Rhett, but he raped Scarlett, he ´ s not that perfect, Still i feel bad for him, about the way scarlett ignored how much he loved her, and the way she loved him But i really wished they end together when i was younger, but i think the lessons of the books , wouldn’t be that powerful if they would stay together at the final of the book, because they clearly need to learn how they can love each other in a health way

I love that despite GwtW receiving so much backlash over the past few years, it's still alive in people's minds and hearts, in their creativity, as they pair clips from the classic with modern music <3
@lanas11492 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand the backlash. People are so sensitive and get offended very easily these days and I feel like saying “Grow up and get a life!” to them

I was 17 in '75 when GWTW was reissued and came to my local theater. Eas mesmerized by it. My teenage heart was swept up with the complex love story and the epic nature of the film. My teenage mind became interested in the Civil War, Hollywood in the 30's and the background and experiences of the author, Margaret Mitchell. Learned about the institution of slavery, the Civil War and the Jim Crow South that prevented Hattie McDaniel from participating in many of the events because of segregated Atlanta. Also, learned that GWTW was banned by the Third Reich because they feared Scarlett's fierce determination to survive would inspire those the Nazi's were conquering. Aside from being entertained by this classic film, I was educated by it!

Vivien has a very strange fate! Sometimes I think that the Earth is hell, and we are paying for our sins here, and when we get through all the difficulties, God takes us to himself, purified through hell! And everyone has their own cross! She got a pretty heavy one! Maybe you'll have more luck in the next life!
