Sorry, I didn’t install Linux and then reinstalled window on this laptop. I am not sure what happened to the operating system in your situation. You may contact Dell technical support for the operating system issue.

I got a little piece of coated metal like a mini pry bar and had to pry it off with that lol. Mine was nowhere near as easy as it looked in the video. Luckily I didn’t scratch/ break my watch in the process.

Good question. The Lid should be safely on the hook by default. If it is off the hook. I can see it is hard to put it back without pliers , etc. If it is off the first time when opened the box, may contact seller for a replacement.

Most lighting fittings operate on AC so there is usually no positive (live) or negative (neutral). In AC, Active, = hot = live and Neutral. If the wires insulation is the same color then the connection most likely does not matter. However, as indicated in the video, you will need to mark the same wire before cutting them.
