I ate here! I remember I had about 4 glasses of coke on the table and the waiter and waitress are acting out a scene and the waiter goes “are you mad at me because my brother is an alcoholic!?” And points at me. I was laughing so hard. I miss that place

Ive been here before my last time was march 9th to 11 we stayed at grand harbour resort and went to the museum we went pased that and went on the hillside neighbourhood there i live in clive almost a 4 hour drive to there lot of trains there

I went here 2 days after this comment was posted around 3 years sense i been to adventureland on the underground i went there 2 years ago i was going into 5th grade im going to 7th grade tomorrow from the time of this comment i went to the new underground first row best experience i love the ride i live close in clive iowa a 25 minute drive to altoona the underground is red and has new decorations the last time 2 years ago i wasn’t able because the line was to full it was at the beginning when we rode it it was fun the new one we waited for 30 or 45 minutes to get one i was front row with my brother i have been here 5 or 6 times and been to lost island worlds of fun and i would say i think adventureland is funner other then mamba and prowler and the car rides i wish they add to adventureland are super fun but its almost a 3 hour drive to there and over 2 hours to lost island which is the opposite way near iowa city where my doctor appointment i go a 2 hour drive every year ive been there sense kindergarten my last time was july 9 2024

I recall the haunted house folks provided me a still image of the scary Cheshire Cat and asked if I could animate it. At the time, I did not know where the image came from. I remember the original version was ver low-resolution, and later I found a better quality image. I think that is how I found out it was from a video game.

@@calan604 it is quite shocking how much they have removed in the past few years, especially so many classics just before the 50th anniversary. I saw they shared a story about how the Petunia Pig snack stand was based on a similar stand that inspired the creation of Adventureland…. And apparently they closed Petunia Pig, but did paint it gold and put up signs on it talking about its history.

Not that I recall. I think this ran on an X86 PC, and I don't know of any audio driver (other than one I wrote as an experiment) that made use of PC hardware's built in speaker. Seems it could have at least done the console "beep.'

I had no idea this stuff had advanced so quickly. I want to be able to feed it a melody and lyrics and have it do demos for me. Right now, it just kinda makes something different up each time, but I can see this being a really fun tool when we get a way to control it more.

It has to be programmed for specific lights. I do custom loops for folks based on the lights they have.

We were just down a city street so I don’t think it was any faster than maybe 45 mph. I have a magnetic mount, and also a suction cup mount, but I do not trust them. I see people use them all the time, but I don’t want to lose my camera. My risk here was if *I* dropped it, or it broke off the selfie stick. I have seen photos of X2/X3 where the tripod mount at the bottom broke. That said … I now have a metal catch (utility frame) for my X3. That seems more secure than using the tripod mount on the camera. One of the car mounts I now have included a long (3 foot?) strap, so you could mount it to your car, and run the strap inside the window as an emergency backup in case the thing popped off the car. I have yet to try it.

@henrynordman876 Yes. LIke, the X2/X3 is supposed to be able to go underwater, but I see so many people who have killed theirs by getting it wet. I know many people put these on skiis or fast cars or parachute jumps with no problem, but I can’t afford to replace mine if something happens to it - so I am over cautious.

I love my T1 Coco. It is the true "Coco 2". Used to run OS9 Level 1 Version 2 (allowed use of the new modes) using lowercase. Wonderful machine. Did all my C programming on that Coco and that version of OS9.

I wonder if any other Tandy software supported the lowercase. Did they modify the Scriptsit word processor to use it, for example? I do not recall if the Infocom games ever had versions that used lowercase. At Sub-Etha Software, Terry Todd created InfoPatch to patch those adventure games to work on 80 columns with lowercase, but I have yet to find any master copies of the software. I am not thinking they did on the T1, but I don’t know.

I don’t run XROAR in virtual machines - just on my Windows 10 machine, my Mac, or a Raspberry Pi. I think I had to build the Pi version from source, but there is a CoCoPi project that has a disk image full of several CoCo emulators, software, etc. It boots up to a menu and has XROAR, MAME, DriveWire and lots of other stuff.
