Nice man. How did you get that echoey wavy sound? Did you use any pedals or is it a sound effect you have on your amp? I’ve been trying the same riff but it doesn’t have that same trance-like tone to it.

Great lesson. So cool you took the time to teach this song. I'd love to learn it. I'm 65 and I've only been playing for 2 years and I don't think I can Master a full bar chord.

@PostPunkWakey71 Hey, nice of you to ask! The Gm is actually fine but I tried playing the Dm down at the 5th fret (with the same fingering as the Am and Gm, of course) and I thought it sounded a little "darker"-maybe that high D sounding on the E string with the original fingering made it a tad too bright...and the lower-sounding D on the 4th string was easy to miss (or hit 100% at least) sometimes whereas with the fifth fret D the D is on the third string and you can't miss it...Great tab though, and thanks!

D-C-G is correct....but.... Mick plays barre chords (including the G) while sliding his finger down to the Gb.... in fact Mick plays barre chords through out the song.

If you want to spice it up a bit Syd does a slide 2-4 on the A string in the main riff after coming off the E string (he does a double slide the 2nd time through i think also) turn the delay up a bit and it sounds crazy trippy.

Yes! I finally found a lesson where the teacher gets on with it straight away. No 15 minute mini biography of the artist, then a critique of the song before going into an excruciatingly long lesson taking a good 10 minutes just to get through the intro! Nice lesson, bro! I realize those painfully slow lessons are needed for beginners, else they wouldn't understand what is going on, but dang it, we advanced players need lessons sometimes too. LoL

@@PostPunkWakey71 wow, thanks...apparently it reminded me a lot of the McGeoch sound. By the way, can you suggest other songs that are similar in vibe or sound please? I really like these mellow melodic style with chorus and flanger. I'm a metalhead but I love Cocteau Twins, Dead can dance (particularly the first album, similar to Garlands by CT, I suspect they used the same gear), Killing Joke, Siouxsie and all the post-punk and dark wave bands I can find. Do you know Drab Majesty? P.s.: I discovered this song (Sister Europe) because of a comment on the Vr sex - hall of fame video saying the intro was similar.
