It's pretty slick. I've been playing with it today. I got it setup and running everything voicemeeter was running, without using VAC's. Still trying to figure out how to integrate matrix and voivemeeter since matrix doesn't have faders for audio. Not sure it's really needed by the average ham radio user like me, but for someone like you who adds video and other software and hardware into the mix it might be helpful.

@@k1gmmgreenmountainmaniac251 Slight change. I set it up that way but I was getting audio from the radio and audio from sdrconsole. So I set up a VAC and used it to get the sdrconsole audio into Input 2 in Potato. Now when I use sdrconsole I turnoff the A2 output on the VAIO Input and turn on the A2 output on Input 2. Reverse the process when I'm not using sdrconsole.

This is great! Thank you very much! It's all coming together now. Running a 7300, and I'm using a UMC-404HD that I used sometimes in my old home studio, and sending everything to a set of KRK Rokit 5 speakers, also left over from my old home studio. My mic is a AT2020, great mic, but I just ordered a Shure WH20. A headset mic just seems to allow for more freedom of movement, plus the at2020 in a shock mount on a boom arm is partly blocking my view of one of my monitors. Now I just need to figure out how to pipe the PC audio through a VST I created for listening to music, streaming, or videos like yours. Haven't figured it out yet but there has to a way to separate the mic audio from the pc audio so they each can run to a different vst and then out through the 404hd.
@k1gmmgreenmountainmaniac25114 күн бұрын
Alan, are u referring to pc audio as in, audio from a websdr etc?
@TheOldxMusicMan14 күн бұрын
@@k1gmmgreenmountainmaniac251 Never mind, I figured it out. PC audio as in media player for when I want to listen to my music, streaming from Amazon Prime, etc, watching videos on the internet. That sort of thing. But Win 10 and 11 have a Volume Mixer that you can change the inputs and outputs on different apps. So I changed Firefox and VLC media player to output to Line 2 VNC which goes to my VST Main which is configured for regular audio (as in non-Ham audio), it sends the output to Input 5 in Potato which outputs to the 404HD. Works fine. There might be a better way to do it but this way works OK.

Appreciate all your hard work here this is awesome! I've spent most of the day playing with this stuff getting it to work on my ANAN and it sounds amazing!! About to disconnect all the old rack gear! I'm using a focusrite solo and have a bit more latency than I wish for might look into getting the UMC204HD as you suggested. The best I can achieve now is 96000 1024 and its 46.60ms
@k1gmmgreenmountainmaniac25123 күн бұрын
Tnx Eco. Have you tried running at 48k and reducing buffer sizes? Don't know about the focusrite except that a lot of folks have ditched it for a better card for better speed. I will say stability is more important than speed. I ran a MAudio card for months on the windows mme driver. Was 100% stable but latency was a little rough. It did work but the umc204 did change the game. Preamps are higher quality too on the Behringer. Just my experience. The Mackie Onyx is a step down from the UMC204HD but did work well.

i use "light host" as the host for vst plugins... and a software mixer (viocemeeter potatoe)... that is used for my mic audio (noise gate, compressor, noise reduction and limiter plus equalizer).... for using a vst plugin on receive side I use a softeare "vst host" and the plugin is "cleanup" (an ssb noise filter that lets an ssb signal sound as it were from a local fm repeater) .... no hiss noise in speech pauses and clean voice ... so i can use vst plugins on mic audio and on the receive side
