I love this dedicated-to-love music video very much. Thank you very much indeed for uploading. Living in Thailand, I am 72 years old and have never experienced true love like the Dutchman. Having no sidekick to share the old days, I have old songs and pictures helping me stand head-up until I kick the bucket.

Prachtig! De Nederlands-Zweedse troubadour in een heel fraai duet met Monica. Jammer dat ik geen Zweeds versta, maar het klinkt heel mooi. Cornelis, we zijn je niet vergeten, rust zacht.

Rick & Ron brought me down to earth regardless of life's tensions. They took me in and I never have left. God bless you guys.

Thanks for being here. Rick & Ron were lifelong friends of my family. My parents were director & head nurse at Camp Huckens, a summer camp in New Hampshire where the Shaws spent their childhood summers. It wasn't an act - they really were two of the nicest people on the planet. They were there when my Mom passed & came to my Dad's 80th birthday party. Sad to inform, but Ron Passed on Sunday, April 1. The Dutchman was always my favorite. Thanks for being here in this time of sadness.

The Dutchman song is performed by several artists, but the shaw brothers version is the best.

I was fortunate to see her and the Maddox Brothers at the Sportsman's Lodge in Studio City, Calif. I made a request to have them sing this great gospel tune. They happily complied. Man, I was in heaven.

Zo mooi, kende het al van The Clancy Brothers zo zuiver als deze heb ik het nog niet gehoord.David Soul zingt dit lied het mooist maar de kwaliteit is heel slecht op deze site.Prachtig zowel de melodie als de tekst.Bedankt, Pleuni.

For this video I took a different approach then I normally do. Some will like it others probably don´t. And if you don´t like the video close your eyes and make your own pictures in your mind. The only thing I hope for is that as many people as possible will feel the lyrics of song and discover how beautiful music can be if you really take the time to listen. Sincerely, Remo

@cadjunk Some people love a good melody, others go for the lyrics or the voice telling the story. The Shaw Brothers all combine those three things together in The Dutch Man. Thanks for liking the video I made. I appreciate it very much! Sincerely, Remo

I´m glad you like this video so much. In the future I probably will upload more Shaw Brothers songs. I think of picking a song like ´Song for spring´, ´Seven daffodils´, ´Mama earth and papa sky´ or perhaps ´The girls from Amsterdam´. Thanks for your reaction! Sincerely, Remo

The first I ever heard this song was in 1974 in a small tavern in the center of Portsmouth, NH. It was called The Market Square Pub. I used to sit there every Thrusday and Saturday night, listen, and sing along with The Shaw Brothers.
