You sound like you have a lot of experience with the 3030 and the manticore. I primarily beach and salt water hunt. What machine is the better one?
@hiluxyota72009 күн бұрын
@@Quickcat21MK the manticore does hit harder on small gold than the ctx. I haven’t used either in salt water. In a cut with heavy iron I’m still struggling with the manticore. It’s definitely lighter and has a faster recovery speed than the ctx but I’m still learning it . The ctx to me has a better tone variation, I can tell the sound difference between a pull tab and a nickel. The manticore, I’m still trying to distinguish the sounds. Both great machines but for the water I think the manticore has a small edge in finding gold.
@Quickcat21MK9 күн бұрын
@@hiluxyota7200 I had my 3030 setup so I could tell if it was gold. A nickel sounded the same. I will have to see how the manticore plays out I just ordered one. Thank you for the reply. If it isn't as good on my main beach ill just...have to order another 3030 lol.
@hiluxyota72009 күн бұрын
@@Quickcat21MK I hated it at first but for fresh dropping it hits hard on small earring backs and Bobby pins. I had to slide a small piece of a pool noodle on the end of the shaft behind the arm cuff because if you let it go it will sink. Where the back of the ctx actually floats. I’m not sure about salt water but in fresh water the beach low setting in enhanced audio seems to work the best for me in my areas.

Love your videos. You rock with your prowess and love the sense of humor in former vids. GL & HH I find stuff too but my pouch is loaded with zink pennies and sharp shit so I can display junk lol😅 Show jewelry and every mfer on the beach tries to say they just lost it. Worthless POS thieves.

Can I ask a question, my diamond tester there is a silver triangle near where you test the diamonds that your fingers have to be touching to make it work. Does yours have that?

@hiluxyota7200 thanks I'm beginning to think my coils faulty..can't run above 18 sensitivity with 11 coil.
@hiluxyota720022 күн бұрын
@@mickbalton7028 24 is pushing it for me , but mostly I’m in 23 to 24 most time with recovery at 3. If I’m in a cut with iron I will turn it down to 22 and it seems to be smoother. You probably have a lot of mineralization where you’re at.

@hiluxyota7200 thanks for your advice..here in the Mediterranean its super salty an I was advised to get the M8 coil but it's not available in our country yet I'll go back to the equinox untill I can get one..the equinox even in beach 1 is super smooth in the salt..

Great video! Can you clarify something for me as I also detect and am curious: Title of vid says its a 100 year old swimming hole and also the black and white photos at the very beginning clearly show a small body of water which is at least deep enough to swim in. However, your vid clearly shows you extracting rings and finds from what looks like a smaller stream, or small running water which is only a foot or so deep. So is this what is left of the swimming hole now...or are you detecting in the outflow stream coming from the swimming hole itself? Reason I ask is that I have not considered detecting the flowage from the swimming hole where I go, and have only been concentrating on the actual swimming area itself. Are these rings washing out of the hole to shallower water or am I missing something here? Thanks!
@hiluxyota72002 ай бұрын
@@Randy-ul5hy only way rings will wash out is if they are on bedrock. Always concentrate on the x marks the spot itself. Those intro photos are other places that I found pics of that give a general idea. I would never put an actual picture of my location up because there is always someone that can find it and pound it to death. I actually had it happen just from showing the bottles that I find in the swimming sites that I put in the videos. And yes. During a long period of time without rain the water levels will go down. Back then the deepest it got was around waist deep. But a lot has changed in over a hundred years and the water levels all went down from removing old dams , more drainage and whatever else. Typically if it’s not a bedrock bottom for stuff to slide on it pretty much will rest where they were lost. Look for places that had water slides or any popular spots in the 1920’s. This era will produce the most gold and silver coins because the economy was booming before the depression started in 29. I have a couple sites from the late 1800’s early teens and probably found a dozen rings compared to what I find from spots in the 20’s.
@Randy-ul5hy2 ай бұрын
@@hiluxyota7200 Ah...that explains it! Thanks for the info. And I understand what you are saying about confidentiality. When I first started back in the early 80's there were so many places to go, many sites were so close, and so much to find. Now the hobby has become so popular that I have to spend the winters up here in Canada researching potential sites, which in some cases, are 2-4 hours away from my home. Sometimes when I get there only to find its been hammered by someone else. Add to that the government designation of Historic Sites, property development, etc.. and the availability of potential hunting sites is extremely limited. So much know that a few of my detecting buddies have packed it in and dont go out anymore. I am not at that sate yet, but I will agree its just crazy now.

Awesome video! Do you still dislike the manticore ?
@hiluxyota72003 ай бұрын
I had it at a park for the first time and I was having trouble with the square nails. I still have to get that part figured out if it’s even possible. It hits hard on small low signals at the beaches for gold. Other than the faster recovery speed with the manticore, I think my ctx will out perform it on trashy parks, but I just have to is it more on land to figure it out more
