Thank you for the information. It is good to understand the deer resistance of plants. It would also be nice to know the minimum direct sunlight requirements. I live in Wake County NC in a heavily wooded subdivision. The most any spot in my yard that gets full, direct sunlight is 3.5 hours. It is difficult to find blooming perennials for my yard.

I know this video was posted a while ago, but if the soil around the plant isn't of the best quality should i surround the root ball with some kind of miracle grow/ black kow instead of pine bark or will that just burn the plant in the long run?

Is this applicable to upstate New York area as well? The reason I asked because, I have heard around here that you should plant it all the way so that the top is align with grade. Thanks
