I know I'm...a bit late here, but 2024 was such a good year for me, and I'm really happy to hear it was as good for you! I also just wanna say, your content is great and I'm really looking forward to the new videos. (Especially the one coming soonest™, that game I still need to at least try at one point, maybe this will motivate me more.) I might not comment that much, but I for sure am enjoying them! It always gets me how unashamed HAL is of the Kirby anime. Usually just mentioning the tv shows of existing video games is avoided like the plague. (Mario, Zelda, DK) But HAL references the anime like every other game and even included episodes in Kirby's 20th anniversary release

that amber rant at the end was weirdly wholesome. i know it can seem silly that that weird little cartoon fox made you so happy, but thats just because she was apart of what seems to be a genuinely powerful work of art, which touched you deeply. sometimes a good piece of media with enough care put into it can genuinely be life changing

I got TTYD this year and honestly, I didn’t really care for it that much. It has to be the most overhyped game I’ve ever played. It’s not bad or anything. I think it’s perfectly decent, but that’s really all I think it is. I get why everyone likes it but it’s really just not for me. I just find it eh

That's fair! I love it, but I do kinda agree that it's a tiny bit overhyped though. I suppose how much you get out of the game depends on how much stuff like the combat and writing makes up for some of the duller moments, and I loved that stuff a lot!

I liked Color Splash a lot more. I don’t really care about battle systems that much. I can tell when it’s a good or bad one, but I don’t care about them either way so color splashes battle system doesn’t bother me and I love everything else about the game. It’s by far the funniest Mario game ever made, the art style is beautiful and all of the areas are unique and fun to explore. TTYD has things I liked but I wouldn’t call my experience amazing or anything and considering how hyped up the game is it’s a bit underwhelming and this is coming from someone who went in already feeling like it was gonna be overhyped. I like TTYDs battle system, even if I still don’t engage with it much because I hate grinding (also I never really cared about the badges) and it has some cool story moments, even if I don’t think the story is really that interesting. I also didn’t really find the game that funny. It has its moments for sure but overall, I didn’t really care for the writing that much. I also really dislike how a lot of the areas are designed. So many of them just feel like long hallways and it gets old really fast and I also think the first two chapters were awful. Again I don’t think the game is bad or anything. I think it’s good but not great but I’m clearly in the minority. It just didn’t really do it for me

Okay, so a little more about Candicevillega. His name is Nathaniel Villega, or Catboi, according to KZbin. Me and my friend made a small server themed around Kirby about a year ago. He joined and posted very similar art to what you mentioned, however no fetish art. As far as I'm aware, he hasn't posted these specific artworks. Due to his privacy, I won't be posting his art anywhere, but we have talked with him, albeit minimally. I don't know if his Discord account is still active, but judging by his demeanor in said server, he likes to show anyone he can his kind of violent artwork. He didn't talk a lot in the server, but it was clear he acted very similar to how he does online. Just some more information on him.

Putting Bomb Rally in #22 and the remake in #21 not #2 and #1 is awful -1/10 In all seriousness though, this was a well-thought out and constructive video on the many fun (and not so fun) sub-games of the Kirby series. Very nice!

Honestly, playing the color hack Dream Land 2 DX geniunely gave me whole new appreciation for the game. The levels have distinguishable setpieces and goregous colors that make every level feel like someplace new, there's an option where the Animal Friend theme only appears in the first level you find them in, which allows for the banger of Big Forest to shine. Now granted, the flaws of the later levels are still evident, but just these additions to the game turned Dream Land 2 into an underrated gem in my eyes.

Honestly, these are the kind of topics I applaud people like you for taking, because the Sub Games honestly need all kinds of justice. I will say, I do understand why multiplayer doesn't mostly factor in the ranking, but I still think some way to do Vs. for the handheld games for example could've at least told if there was some kind of unique variation or value to something like Squeak Squad that's not there in single player.

Also gotta admit, I thought it was such a waste that Kirby's Wave Ride was scrapped in favor of Crackity Hack. I actually really hope that Merry Magoland could get a Deluxe version that includes more revamps of the sub-games here, because yeah, as much as I love Checkerboard Chase, I need my Bumper Crop Bump fix after Smash Remix gave it lip service.

Seeing at least a little bit of love to my favourite Kirby game gives a warm feeling to my heart :D. I'll be waiting the third part of this series with a lot of excitement! (Btw: Fire Chu-Chu fucking rocks, she's my favourite animal buddy and seems super cute with Kirby. I love it).

about the lack of development info, there actually is some info hidden within the game itself, interestingly the heart star fail music is labeled as world map theme 5 while iceberg's is world map theme 6 internally, that, the lack of a partner for coo and the presence of blocky in iceberg stage 6 makes me think that at one point there was 6 worlds considered but the development team decided that the game was better off with 5

My personal KDL3 headcanon is that Zero is possessing Castle Dedede itself. I like to think that in the final Iceberg stage the tower is actually rising from the ground and taking you right below the Hyper Zone, which is why the Dark Matter clouds in the Dedede fight are so close overhead. I think the propellers/fans in the background of the tower levels seals the deal for me on this theory lol the concept of the structure itself being controlled by Zero is too cool, also explains the eye

The reason japan kept pink kirby is because when discussing the american release they couldn't decide between pink and yellow. Originally the designers wanted Kirby to be pink, but as per american tendency it was to femenine, in the end they chose pink.

I've sat throught the whole thing across 2 days, was pretty enjoyable and glad the mic issues were relatively sorted. It has kinda rekindled a love for the franchise and now I'm wondering about cosplaying Meta Knight or Galacta Knight. I was expecting Bouncy Tiff to show up honestly when NSFW was mentioned, but that second one was waaaaaaaay worse. I enjoyed the obscure info.
