I’m incredibly sad that this amazing team is being sent away. But, I still had a great time seeing my team play. Every game I ever watched or went to was wonderful for me. Win or loose, these Oakland Athletics have always been amazing fun for me. I was born in Oakland and I will always remember the wonderful times I experienced when the A’s were here.

😬😬 Oakland citizens voted for 3 women mayor's and each one lost a sports team. You get what you vote for. Oakland knew it would take Public money...billionaire or not.. to save their sports teams amd get them new facilities. Life ain't fair but Oakland fans are not the victims

It's simple, I work for the city, an the A"s an Oakland had a meeting an they told the city to put 700 million an they'll put the rest but city needed some time for that an yes that showed them they didn't want to be here no more unless they can pay, MLB was looking for a new owner to buy team an move them to Vagas there was Alot of owners wanted to buy team an keep them in the city but MLB was looking for a way out an yes they found a sucker that would listen an moved them.. SO CASE CLOSED, An Y'allKnow The Truth 😢😢😢😢😢

My baseball heart is broken. I wanted Rickey but my first signature as a kid was Billy Martin. My dad was impressed. He was a Dodgers fan growing up in LA but he loved the game and played at Long Beach State. Yes, my dad was a Dirtbag 🤣. Love your studio decor today. I'm still gonna say THANK YOU Damon and your whole team! You are very much appreciated . ❤❤❤

Reggie Jackson actually offered more money than Fisher did but Fisher got the team anyway. MLB almost got its first African-American owner but nope, still nothing but a white guy club.

Oakland deserved a better owner but more than that, they deserved better Government leadership and better Media who spent the last 10 years kissing their asses. If you want to know why the A"s were allowed to move, just look at the state of the facilities in Oakland. That's not John Fisher's fault.

@@jamespaydoCompletely misleading. ONLY at the very end. The City owned 1/2 and did nothing. The County sold it with no restrictions to fix it up or build new or stay. Total mismanagement.

The favorite restaurant analogy is fantastic. One thing I would add is that when the restaurant made a an almost Michelin Star dish, they stopped making it and would bring on a new dish from scratch, over the years improve it year by year and when it becomes almost another Michelin star dish, they get rid of it again and this happens over and over and over again. It is tiring.

It's funny how you say that the owners don't want the league or commissioner telling them what to do. From what I heard and you probably know, back when the A's were sold to Fisher, groups with Reggie Jackson and Joe Lacob had higher bids to buy the team, but Selig wanted to do a favor for his college friend Lew Wolff, Fisher's partner at the time. I know leagues want to investigate and make sure no one shady owns a franchise or give first priority to someone who'll keep a franchise in the current city. Aside from that, I know I wouldn't want to be told I needed to sell to someone who wasn't the highest possible bidder. Sounds like an owner being told what to do.

Thats the way most people with lots of money are, very disconnected with society. I guess thats just natural. This is why we must not elect rich people to positions of power. They are disconnected with others and thus cant be champions of good for society.

I went to the last 3 games. Yesterday was tough, a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Really makes you think about times in life where things are just not fair. There's millions of people not just in Oakland but A's fans all over the region who woke up this morning much sadder human beings. Yesterday was a funeral. Passing the Coliseum this morning on my way to work was just a harsh reminder that a rich guy like Fisher who was handed EVERYTHING can just rip our team out of our community while we work hard and have nothing to look forward to. It really sucks D.A. it's just a numb feeling. I really hope Rob Manfred understands what's happening here and even more so I hope somebody with the means to do so can fix this. Oakland needs a hero or a miracle. This is really going to hurt the love of the sport here if they don't find a way to fix this.

Thanks for bringing the news about the A’s / John Fisher situation to your platform. Dave Stewart’s video post with Brodie Brazil pretty much sums it up. The days leading up to the last game was like going to a wake. The day of the last day was the funeral. It was not bittersweet but somber. 😢 Stewart also mentioned he went to speak to Bruce Bochy at pregame and Bochy even said, ‘How did this happen?’ Your coverage really means a lot to me, The Oakland community, The A’s fans base. Thank you for bringing this important story to your audience!🙏

Amazing social analysis. I tried having a conversation on Oakland losing it's last team today with my brother. All he said was "Oakland is a S-hole" and I realized there was no conversation to be had there. Although, tbh he also is voting Trump so there's no conversation in many other topics either. As a brother, I am trying to keep some sort of relationship. But the dumping on others culture he displays it's gotten a lot harder year by year.

My first time to the Coliseum I was eight years old and it was April of 1968, NY vs Oak. Micky Mantle homered in the first and the A's walked it off in 11. My parents were from Philly and their first date was an A's game in 1948. My Mom's first time to Shibe Park was 1936, her all time favorite A's player was Wally Moses. My parents also attended the Heidi Game. My brother worked for the organization at the Coliseum in the mid 80's to mid 90's. By that time I had moved to Alaska, but I always made it down to the Coliseum for World Series and Grateful Dead New Years runs. I snuck into the 89 World Series by going through the front office with my brother, shaking Sandy Alderston's hand along the way (the Haas family, now those were owners). I raised two A's fans in Alaska by being their LL & HS BB coach/umpire and taking them to a week of Spring Training games every March for a decade 96 to 06. A favorite memory being Mohamed Ali patting my son on the head and giving him an autograph on Barry Zito's leg on the cover of the program while he entered an A's Spring Training game in the 2nd inning to a standing ovation, that and all the foul balls and autographs. I've watched damn near every A's game since streaming has been a thing, and before that we used to get the A's on TV sometimes on Sundays, the highlight being watching Dallas Braden's perfect game with my son or taking both my young kids to the Bar to watch the 20 wins in a row. I took off work for Game 162. I made my last trip to the Coliseum in May, for the Texas series, finishing off with a Double Header sitting in Sec. 119 at the top of the A's tunnel. Now all of that has to come to an end because of one man. FJF

Hit it right on the button. Fisher has accomplished nothing and wants to be with the "cool kids". His older more intelligent brothers were actually CEOs of GAP, John did not have acumen or business instincts to run the company. Daddy had to buy him the A's, so he can have a play toy and he even messed that up. Running a sports team is easy, "if you win or even try to win, they will come". Makes me wonder what kind of under the table payout Manfred is getting to waive his buddy John a billion dollar relocation fee.
