No way this has 70l. Compare dimensions to lets say TT base pack 72. This is 40L max.

Excellent video! I love how everything packs down so quickly. I was just having a nightcap here in Colorado. It was fun waiting for your premiere, and thoroughly enjoyed watching! Thanks again!

@@mattsmountainmadness Thanks a lot Matt. Yes thats what i like about this setup, very quick but in return its not the lightest and smallest but i usually dont do super long hikes so thats ok. We are going this Friday evening to some friends and i can have a nightcap too 😎, what is your drink of choice ? Im so happy that you got your sponsorship because your videos are great and im now thinking about getting a Megamat because i watched all your videos about them last evening 👍. Take care Matt.

@@PrepperTankar I really like that pack. I wouldn't be doing anything super long either, and it looks like something I could use on quick field tests of sleeping bags. I was always a lager drinker, and still am in the right environment. Canadian beers are my preference .However, the subzero camping forced a less "freeze prone" beverage. Today I like to sip on a spirit called "Laird's Apple Jack". It is still liquid and tasty at -25C, and it doesn't take so much that I have to exit the tent for a nature call every hour! HaHa! Hey, enjoy your evening with friends, later, Matt

@@mattsmountainmadness Yeah i like this pack too and its not too expensive and it actually pretty lightweight. Main compartment is about 45 liters and the side pockets are 15 liters each. The only negative is that a rain cover is not included. Yeah you dont really want to drink 2 large beers before you go to sleep in a sleepingbag at freezing temperatures 😂. Take care you too 👍

@@mattsmountainmadness Thanks Matt. Yeah i like this pad even thou Im a side sleeper this pad is actually pretty comfy but not as comfy as the megamats but still ok. Looks like it has a lot of great features. I find myself wishing it had a hoop pole at the footbox, so it would keep the Goretex away from the sleeping bag fabric. I am anxious hear how it is working for you down the road. Great video! Nice setting!

Yeah its perfect for one person when your winter camping like you do a lot. I hade the burner and i had the cookset so i just combined the two and the windscreen i made my self out of titanium foil. I will add subtitels later on today because i cant do that on the phone and need a computer. I do all my clips on my iPhone actually.

Great, thanks a lot for the tip. 👍 Does the screw on the bottom of the Optimus Polaris fit on the Trangia Burner Cup? I have an Optimus Polaris, and to put it on the Optimus Burner Cup, there is a guide that allows you to put it in one particular direction. Does the same apply to the Trangia Burner Cup? Question about minute 2:50 of the particular video. Thanks
@PrepperTankar
@PrepperTankar 23 күн бұрын
@@LsLeChatJazz Yes the nut from the Polaris will fit with the Trangia Burner Cup but you need to flip the nut upside down but other then that it will fit perfect 👍

Nice, thorough review. Us side sleepers need a little more thickness in a pad to sleep comfortably. Exped has always provided that for me. While I own the Megamat and Megamat Max, I am sure this lite pad would keep me plenty comfortable. Thanks again for the video!

@@mattsmountainmadness Yes is very good once you let out some air and i would say its a good and lighter option if you dont want to carry your regular Megamat or Max. Might not not be able to handle as mutch cold as the Megamat but Exped says is good down to -4 degrees Fahrenheit at least but Im happy if it will handle 14 degrees Fahrenheit 👍

Thanks for your thorough review. I'm looking to buy a Optimus Polaris to go with my 25-3 duossal but I want to keep the legs attached to the stove. It would be fantastic for you to show your Polaris setup like that with your 25 and give us your pros and cons for the setup? I know the stove probably must be kept to 70%-80% max power to prevent melting the storm cooker or Upgrading to the all hard anodized might solve the problem. Liking your straight forward style of review and I can mostly follow your English translation. Thanks again ❄️🏕️🇨🇦
@PrepperTankar
@PrepperTankar Ай бұрын
@@gearhead-do1xh if you want to use your duosal pots and pans with the polaris i would do the mod that you saw in another video i have or i would just use the polaris and the duosal stuff and use a windscreen that you buy or make your self. Using the polaris with the legs folded in with the Trangia 25 or 27 is just to unstable and will also most likely melt the aluminium. Thanks mate Im just autotranslating the swedish in to english so i bet there is a lot of errors in the translator but i hope you can understand most of it.
@gearhead-do1xh

That's a great video, I want to do the same setup with my 25. Have you thought of using the polaris in your Trangia with the legs attached and just folded in? 🏕️🇨🇦
@PrepperTankar
@PrepperTankar Ай бұрын
Yes i have thought of that but the burner head will be to low down and will start to melt the aluminium of the 25. When you have it like this the burner head is above the aluminium and not at the same level as the aluminium. As you can see in the beginning of the video the non moded Polaris is almost under the aluminium of the 25, i would not do that unless you want to melt your 25.
