Cool video, just modified with dimarzio pickup pretty sure not bad as stock without resistor. Any idea for precision balance? See ya

Thanks for the comment. It makes a big improvement to the single coil sound. It's about a 75% coil split and gives the pickup more of a "Gretsch" tone, as explained by David Grissom about his DGT model. Here's the part of the interview with Tim Pierce: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5yYq5V-lK1oh8U

Thanks for your video. Those Chinese speakers are not bad at all, and KICS is a large company, making amps under contract for various "famous" brands. That said, Jensen MODs are better :)

Thanks for the comment. The original speakers are good, but as I only play using clean voices, the Jensen speakers give a much warmer low end and more clearer top end without any harshness. They sound big and very articulate, perfect for single note clean soloing. It's been a worthwhile upgrade.

i have a blackstar id core stereo and it suddenly got damaged due to voltage fluctuations.. what to do please help

Hi. Does it switch on, or is it complete dead? If it's completely dead, first check the fuse in the plug and on the back underneath the power connector. If that's good, it maybe the internal switched mode power supply unit. This is located inside the amp on the side. You can measure the voltages out from "V+" and "V-". If there's no output or too low, the PSU may have failed and can easily be replaced with the same type (they are available at many electronic component suppliers). If the PSU is good then it must be a problem with the processor board and you will have to contact Blackstar support for help. Once fixed, I would suggest to use a Surge Protector adaptor as being a fully digital amp, it's no different than a computer. If you don't feel comfortable working on electronic equipment, then I would suggest taking it to a tech. Hope this helps.

I have this amp and I can make it sound beautiful, have you tried changing your tone with the dials before changing out the speakers? Thx for the info about the original speakers. Nice video.

Thanks for the comment. Using the original speakers, I could adjust the EQ to improve the sound, especially adjusting the Presence and Resonance using the tap button as a "shift" key for the Treble and Bass controls. But it was still sounding "icepicky" and shrill with the higher notes above the 12th fret on the unwound strings (I use Thomastik-Infeld JS111 flatwounds with a wound g string). I only play using a clean voice (Clean Warm, Clean Bright or Crunch with a very low gain so it doesn't break up.) Since changing the speakers to Jensen Chicago 10-70, the "icepickyness" and shrill has completely gone and the unwound strings sound much more clearer and articulate.

Problem is the amp was designed for FRS type speaker. Flat Response Speaker because its all emulated sound. Might not be a good idea.

The smaller ID:Core 10, 20 and 40 amps have full range speakers. The ID:Core Stereo 100 and 150 have actual guitar speakers. You can check the specifications of the original Chunil Corp speakers from the link in the video description and this will tell you that they are guitar amplifier speakers (not full range speakers). Also during the product launch at NAMM 2016, one of the key features for these amplifiers are that they have actual guitar amplifier speakers. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpzLdHuPhtWNi6c Also see the Product Overview video from Blackstar about the amp having guitar speakers. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn6thWOtjMp4gLc

@@africanguitarandworldmusic, could You please tell me what 12" speakers ID260 TVP uses? They're marked "Blackstar Blackbird 70" 70Wt 4Ohm speakers and I wonder if they was guitar or FRS. As I have a plan to replace my speakers with my common Eminence Legend or smth else with more presence at high volumes.
@africanguitarandworldmusic
@africanguitarandworldmusic 11 ай бұрын
@@DmitriSkif The Blackbird 12" 70 watt speakers are actual guitar speakers used in the ID:260TVP. The Silverline series is a cosmetic upgrade of the TVP series using the same hardware and Celestion V-Type speakers instead. So any good 4 ohm, 12" 70 watt or higher guitar speaker of choice would be fine. It's important to make sure they are also 4 ohms.
