hudsons death in comparison to the AvP movies. aliens more invested in the characters and there own story arc as individuals. we loved them all... AvP... you know... by the expectations of predator & aliens.. almost all are already dead by the end, why care

The best Bond - George Lazenby - in the best Bond film of all. A welcome change from Connery’s phoning it in. Lazenby was the most athletic, self-confident, and portrayed Bond with the right balance of toughness and humanity. No other Bond actor would have done better in the romantic scenes and yes, that includes the marriage proposal. With regard to contracts, Lazenby left due to bad advice from that air-headed gadfly, Ronan O’Rahilly. But you left out the fact that United Artists (led by David Picker) was begging Connery to return, throughout the making of “OHMSS.” Nor was Picker keen on Peter Hunt doing another. Whatever career difficulties Lazenby endured, it may be a good thing that his name wasn’t attached to the Hamilton-led crud that followed. (So it was left to Moore to get roughed up by a dwarf, and offer his version of Kung-fu.) Thanks to Picker, we were treated to a Vegas travelogue hosted by a star looking old enough to be Lazenby’s father! .

Always love these commentaries. T3 was actually Rated R in the US. I refused to watch this film at the cinema as I thought 12A what a farce. Got it on DVD and later Bluray but it’s such a weird film. Daytime footage can hurt certain characters. Batman for example doesn’t look right in the daytime.

I remember my friend went to see this before me when it came out and I was intrigued to ask him how Arnie ended up getting a biker outfit again and he said you don't want to know lol. I did go to see it and always remember how disappointed I was with the film. Cheap knock off to T2.

Any chance of a Predator 2 commentary? I'd love your thoughts on how all of the great quartet of series - Alien, Predator, Terminator and Robocop slid down into pure B-Movie territory. I've felt that the first (and occasionally second) films were all B-Movies made into A-Movies by the quality of the A-list director and cast. Later sequels just faltered under poor direction, studio meddling and weight of expectations.

I guess the concept that the story would take place during judgement day messed with being able to set any of it at night. I honestly think they'd have been better off scrapping most of the first 50% of the script and have the enemy terminator's objective to become the physical agent to switch Skynet into the military systems. Then most of the film would be the main characters having to survive from all of the proto-terminators in the military base.

I wanted a Mad Max film, old Max with Mel. However I saw Furiosa and Harper is off his nut and clearly wanted a Fury Road clone. Furiosa is epic and absolutely brilliant. The scire is far from regrettable. Go see it guys. Ill review it at my channel tomorrow.

The movie is pretty bad, especially compared to the first two films. It got even worse later on though. You are right to point out the potential. T3 could have been a lot better with some tweaks. A different actor to play John Connor for a start. That was a horrible miscast. The concept for the Terminator wasn't great either... I thought the ending is quite good. But I agree with your points that the set-up of John Connor as the resistance leader is very unbelievable.

John candy wanted to do a German accent, and no one wanted it, so that was the end of him. Fyi: the library ghost had nothing to do with the bookshelf falling, it was actually an accident left in do to the great actor improvising in reaction to it.

The female terminator was not good casting, she tries to look tough, but ends up looking bored the whole time. A terminator should look intense like Robert Patrick or Arnold.

Man the idea of a romance to bog it down is a terrible idea. I like the barely hanging by a thread trust of what we got. I like they don't feel like a particularly well put together team. They're a research station there for business and end up in a situation requiring the thing the tenuously have which is trust. The over focus on character would also diminish the sense of urgency and sense they're barely staying ahead.

when I saw this at the time of release, I actually liked it quite a bit. It may have been that I had very low expectations and it surpassed them. But on rewatches it just doesn't feel like a sequel to T2. John ending up where he's "supposed" to be at the end is a neat sci-fi twist, but not a good Terminator twist

I borrowed the VHS off someone at school whose parents (unlike mine) just had no issue with buying 18 certificate movies for their 13 year old. I'd been vaguely aware of RoboCop enough to get the then recent reference in Red Dwarf when Lister is transformed in 'DNA' to fight the curry monster (which then veers into Jaws, of course). I too had to watch RoboCop in secret before everyone else was up(!), and at the time, it was by far and away the most violent movie I'd ever seen.

Alien 3 is a classic example of those old franchise games where they would be releasing on about 8 different platforms with some versions using completely different code and assets and even gameplay, roughly similar in name only. The SNES version is the one for me, great art direction

I literally just got home from seeing this. I thought it was just okay. It didn't capture my attention anywhere near as effectively as Fury Road did. It felt slower, there was more noticeable CGI, and I just wasn't that invested in most of what was going on. I think the movie is at its best about halfway to 2/3 into it when they are doing the war rig ambushes. And just about everything else felt anywhere from just okay to boring. Right when it gets to credits and you start seeing clips from Fury road I'm reminded how much more exciting that film was. But it wasn't bad or anything either. Anya Taylor Joy does a good job. I just don't think I am going to add this one to the home collection when it's out.

some of the cgi and green screen was a disgrace for a budget like this, after the incredible Fury Road, and really took me out of the film!! its like this was made 10 years before FR. Hemsworth was brilliant, ATJ was adequate I suppose, Rictus being fat was sad to see, not surprising after seeing the state of him in Spiderhead. It was too long, and over all unnecessary. And ending it with the beginning of FR was an enormous own goal, as it only highlighted how inferior this film was in comparison. And a tree growing out of Dementus, wtf was that about!! such a shame
@shth34d57Күн бұрын
I'd give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. A good film, worth seeing, but Fury Road was a 9 for me. It is clear ATJ is very noticeably shorter and less muscular than Charlize, so believing she would be able to physically fight men almost 3 times her size with the same ability as Theron was a stretch. I DEFINETELY noticed the CG, whereas I never did in Fury Road. Some of it looked very cheap. Also, (SPOILERS) it makes no sense for Immortan Joe to see Furiosa become one of his brides as a child/teenager (with a very memorable tattoo), have that bride escape, then have her show up again with Jack with short hair and have Joe not even remotely recognize her. Between the tattoo and her face, he would have known immediately. I also hate when sequels/prequels use a different actor/actress. That said, I liked ATJ and her performance much more than I thought I would. She did a good job with what she was given.

I saw this movie in the 80's and I remember thinking it was not very good. It is probably because everybody (mainly men!) were talking about Mathilda May's body and not about the movie! Thinking about it now, I think it is more interesting than just that. She also makes a very credible space vampire. Her face has a kind of strange beauty perfect for the role. Her cold expression works very well for the character. A very good vampire and she would have been as good if she had clothes on.

Terminator Salvation minus its lackluster and forgettable ending was the best of the Terminator sequels to follow T2.
