I'm watching your videos in the playlist, Kawandi. Even the Kawandi you made in the beginning are beautiful. You went to another country to learn how to make something that touched your soul. Your Kawandi have evolved through your journey. I think when we find something that makes our soul sing it's such a wonderful gift. Ty for taking us on your journey. Your Kawandi make me smile. They are beautiful.

padding made of wrapped scraps. Used to push the needle
@zoyadancesАй бұрын
I recently found you on youtube and am fascinated with your creative kiwandi quilts. I've just begun my obsession and am looking for best tools to use, especially to push the needle through the multiple layers. I noticed that you use some sort of tube in your hand, looks like maybe a wad of scraps wrapped together? I have looked at many, many youtube videos and searched google for what that tool might be but have only seen one other person use a similar tool. Would love to know what you call it and whether you have instructions on how to make one myself. My mind is racing with ideas.
@atree3Ай бұрын
Its just a bunch of rags, wrapped tightly. What the Siddi people use. When I first saw them holding one I thought it looked like a dead mouse. About that size.
@zoyadancesАй бұрын
@ Thankyou for your response. I’ll get right on making a “dead mouse”, ha, ha. I watched a video just las night of a woman making a Sashiko palm ring/thimble using a large covered button and another using leather. I think the rag idea is much more efficient and it’s free.
