I liked the way just the Beta 52 sounded alone, port hole. It sounds nice and natural to me, like a bass drum sounds, and also how it "should sound." Totally subjective, me personally. Enjoyed this a lot!

WE WOULD UNDERSTAND IT BETTER IF IT WAS PLAYING A SIMPLER, CLEAN GROOVE, IT'S VERY NOISY AND CRAMBLE.

Symmetry is right up my alley. Good stick definition, while also being dark with a nice wash underneath. The Omni, for my preference, is just too bright.

I preferred the Shure Beta 52A both on the reso head and on the porthole. And I think it would be easier to get the mixes matched by just sticking with the Shure. The Shure sounded more natural, drier, tighter, more compact, less flubby and resonant/pitched. More a dry attack, some nice click and a good full but short sub. Just a nice punch dry kick sound - job done. Great sounding kick drum btw, but you are right in feeling that the Audix doesn't suit it.

Yeah, I still love the sound captured from the bass drum I get using the 52a. I currently have the 52a on the reso head alongside a Heil PR48, and then I'm using the Audix D6 further in the porthole. For most mixes, the 52a is higher in the mix with the PR48 and D6 as supporting roles. I love the full, wider sound of the 52a, but that D6 does provide some good punch with a bit of EQ and that PR48 just kind of rounds it out inbetween both of them.

Hi there, could you please advise some recording tips for this drum? What kind of mic and set up did you use?

For this demo, I just used two overheads. I believe these were the Audix ADX51 mics. But when recording this for a real music track, I use a Shure SM57 pointed at the head of the drum, plus overheads or a room mic to blend in, if needed.

Im more of a meinl guy normally, but damn the omni is really nice! Still would rather have the symmetry, but thats just because of the styles I play

Yeah, the Omni can be used in so many different styles, but that Symmetry has such a unique trashy sound that I so love it in certain sounds I'm going for. It can inspire a different creativity out of me.
