What fascinates me about this woman is how even the slightest scrap of information concerning her talent, her performances, her projects, even details of her personal life sift into our own lives, our own memories and shine like bits of glitter. I think the quality of her gifts and the high standards she always striven for in using them is what moves us.

Even though it is amazing, it is not a duet song or meant to be sung as such. I would love to hear them singing something from Sunday in the park with George. George and Dot

she over emotes, which makes her not as good as Dorothy Collins. sorry, Barbra, your affectations get in the way here. but your voice is perfect for this song. too bad you muck it up with mannerisms that have no place here. sorry.

I was @ this concert opening night and she was extraordinary. No one sings a Sondheim song better than Barbra Streisand .. she is a living legend, it's ridiculous to compare her to Dorothy Collins who would put anyone to sleep, or Bernadette Peters who has limited dimension. Barbra is unequivocally the best .. a well deserved and earned EGOT🎉

Who's Dorothy Collins?
@richardlee849510 ай бұрын
Collins, a former Hit Parade singer, introduced the song in the 1971 Sondheim musical "Follies." many, including me, think her version is the definitive one. R@@blanchefan

@@richardbocanegra5945 I understand your point and you are not incorrect except for one thing. Bernadette Peters is second to absolutely no one in her interpretations of Sondheim.

@@sharigreen9252 I think he referenced how Sondheim (the author of this song), said he had a preference for "actresses who can sing" over "singers who can act" to interprete his songs. It was a compliment to Ms. Streisand I believe

@@sharigreen9252 Actually the opposite is true. As a teenager she set out to be a serious actress, but when she couldn't get work, she began to sing. Her wild success as a singer led to acting opportunities
