Not correct I'm afraid David. He left the Hollies to pursue other musical interests. He thought the Hollies were too "commercial" and he wanted to be more experimental. He left the Hollies, his Wife and the UK and went to America where he had made friends with David Crosby, Cass Elliot among others. They then formed, Crosby, Stills and Nash. Don't forget although he was one of the founder members of The Hollies, he was only with the band for 6 years. Strangely, he hasn't let us forget that and constantly goes on about it. All bands change with time over the years and members come and go. Whether you like what is left, is a matter of personal taste. I have seen The Hollies from the early days of Clarke and Nash, through the Carl Wayne and now Peter Howarth era. They all bring something different to the band as time goes on. Don't forget on some recordings session musicians are used, the most famous Hollies one being a certain Reg Dwight (Elton John) I think he was paid around £12 for his contribution, but moved on to bigger things in later years! More is revealed if you have a look at his Wikipedia entry here; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Nash

Allan Clarke retired from the Hollies in 1999 and Graham Nash despite being a founder member of the band, was only in the group for 6 years. All bands change their line ups over the years, so I guess you either listen to recorded music from years ago, or watch the current line up keeping the bands music alive? I've watched the Hollies for close on 50 years with 3 different lead singers and many different band members, yes they are all different, but I still love seeing this band live as obviously so do other people who pack out theatres across the World to see a group who are brilliant in concert. Sadly we can't turn the clock back.
