The chorograph fan dance is not in Philippine origin but from Korean folk dance therefore it is not authentic not original.mahilig kumupya

The costumes, especially for the men, are EXQUISITE. Men's costumes in a Filipino dance are often overlooked, but this troupe's thoughtful. Thanks for a truly wonderful look-see. God bless you all.

Quite nice done though not the authentic Maranao Singkil dance that we grow up seeing in stage performances. Still cheers to a very visual presentation.

Major omission: the Muslim prince and warriors wielding shields, kalis swords and joining in the elaborate bamboo poles step dance with the princess and ensemble.

Thank you for pointing this out. Our Artistic Director and Choreographer, Ms. Teresita Veloso-Pil is an Anthropologist. According to her research, traditionally, Singkil is danced only by maidens of royal blood. The addition of prince and warriors dancing in Singkil are theatrical interpretations by other dance troupes.
