you know when i played philosophers stone video games i kept thinking that peeves sounds like rik mayall. not until years later when i found out he was actually cast as peeves but they deleted it.

We have been robbed. Rik a force of nature as Peeves, perfect casting. Peeves not in the films was the glowing ommision from the books. If they put him in it ,I would rewatch it immediately

Rik Mayall as Peeves could have been as memorable as Alan Rickman as Snape and Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid. Such a cruel denied opportunity. I don't blame him for being bitter towards Warner Bros after that.

Peeves is like the Tom Bombadil of Harry Potter... Makes sense in the books, but the movie did need to cut him out sadly.

It seems like they still used his likeness (crudely speaking) in the video games that were released for the film, and even the ones for later films. I played the games as a kid, so it's a trip for me seeing a guy who really looks like that, haha

An absolute travesty at least a couple of his scenes weren't kept. It'd have been the most book accurate movie series in the world if not for that. They still could've found a way to keep him in there in some way shape or form and still have it add to the story, I just remember watching the movies for the first time and Peeves was the part I was looking forwards to the most and was gutted when I found all his scenes were out.

Actually he was in the first Harry Potter film. We just couldn't see him because well, he's a ghost.
