True! Good stuff! The same thing happened with me. I was sparring with too much power, during my early training, after switching styles. I had to e exercise self control, which is invaluable. It has also been said that the most dangerous person to spar is a white belt, because many knew practitioners lack control in their techniques. Check it Out! Ciao!!!

Look all I’m gonna say is that I kinda have minor karate stance, and I would kick your calves out from under you. There is absolutely no security in whatever “bladed stance” that is.

Always important to cover the basics! Side stance never worked for my body type but have seen it work for plenty of people . Always impressed me how fast they could get in and out too.

Actually you don't have to step off the line to throw a cross punch. You can just pivot your front foot as you twist your hip to throw the punch.

It's not the Shotokan karate style right?? Im a step to light blue belt, at Shotokan karate training Kanku Dai

Correct. This style is Goju Ryu which originates off the small island of Okinawa. Shotokan comes from Japan. We study Shotokan as well. No discrimination when it comes to styles.

First things first...it's Daniel-san, not Daniel son (description). 1:58 _"One black belt should be able to defeat 10 people."_ As someone whose done multiple martial arts for three decades and done security I'll leave that fantasy alone. As for the kata...the original screenwriter of the franchise Robert Mark Kamen holds black belts in goju-ryu and isshin-ryu, the films' choreographer/trainer Pat Johnson is a black belt in American Tang Soo Do and Pat Morita's fight double was legendary shito-ryu master Fumio Demura. The kata was never meant to be 100% accurate. It was modified and shortened so that it would be easy for Macchio and Morita to remember and perform. They are not martial artists, they are actors who had other things on their minds like their lines and fight choreography to worry about then whether a kata was accurate or not. Same goes for the current actors. They likely don't know that some of the other choreography that they are doing come from kusanku. One of the very few things the new choreographer did right was keep the "Miyagi family kata" (as it was referred to in KK3) the same as it was in the movie and not change it. KK fans are some of the most hardcore fans out there. If the kata had been changed from the version done in the third movie fans would have noticed.

As MMA develop more you realize that there are a tons of ways in which traditional martial arts can be improved and adapted, and the old stuff doesn't really work that well anymore. Not just MMA but even striking organizations like K1 have pushed this development, as kick boxers had to face muay thai practicioners and the other way around. Basically confronting yourself with others and learning from them helps a lot to come up with better techniques, while deciding to practice just 1 traditional style it is kind of limiting in 2022.
