Mate, has nobody ever told you how bad you are? 🫣 I remember when you came on Opportunity Knocks - you were lousy then and you still are, sorry! (I remember we all felt sorry for you - and I suppose people still do. But we were also a bit peeved - you trading on your dad's name purely to get bookings is rather below the belt. We had no idea you'd carry on doing it - we assumed you'd bow out gracefully after that first embarrassing disaster! But you seemed to be oblivious. I remember your mum getting weepy - was she just being indulgent, or was she wearing earplugs? 🤷🏻‍♀️) These days you have grown to look more like your dad (so I can understand people's curiosity), and your voice has deepened. But you still sound like a below-average club act, partly because you make NO attempt at a vibrato? I mean, your dad's vibrato was one of his signature techniques! (He would have sounded very different without it?) Until that is mastered, your breath control wlll be out of kilter with the classic Matt songs. And use of voice registers and vocal range - well, if it's not there, it's not there. (But a vibrato can be practised - have you even made the effort?) I should call it a day, mate. It was never good and you must have wrung your poor dad dry by now. (Have you considered bus driving as an alternative career? 😉)

Good enough. At least, he could sing like his father. There is no wrong with following your father's footsteps.

it must be great paying tribute to your dad in front of lots of people, wish I could do it but my old fella was just a painter and decorator

this is a very unfortunate legacy! The man can't sing, no sugar coating here. He doesn't have a technique at all, no musical approach in his singing, no vibrato. I am so sorry to see this.

Well he has a pleasant voice but not the depth of his father’s. Matt Monroe senior was a class act for sure

He has not got the POWER in his voice that his dad had. Matt Monro had great power, and delicate deep voice. Jnr is not the same.
