I wondered Why did they demolish it? It looked like a fairly modern building with many years of use ahead of it. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a hand in its demise. Thanks to a couple of hurricanes, the building was damaged and repairs would be too costly. It seems kind of sad in a way. That building was a recognizable landmark of modern architecture.
