The amplifier turn-on wire is not used when the radio is flashed because it uses the DC Offset from the speaker outputs (via the t-harness) to turn-on the amplifier.

The best way to form an opinion is to trust your own ears by experiencing the audio system in person. It sounds like you may have come across a KZbinr misusing test equipment, which may have shaped your perception. If you watched a video featuring equipment that relies on a clipped signal to measure power output, it's being improperly used on Skyline OS. This is because Skyline is specifically designed to avoid clipping, so it's the wrong tool to measure power output. That being said, a key factor for '24 models has nothing to do with the audio, but rather the redesigned windshield. Compared to Rushmore models, the new flat windshield can significantly change airflow across the fairing and on to the riders face and ears. This difference - up to a 10dB shift depending on rider height - is roughly equivalent to doubling the amplifier power for your audio system. For improved airflow and audio clarity, check out some great options from Klockwerks here: getklocked.com/pages/harley-davidson-2023-cvo-flare-windshield As for the audio system, we proudly provide verified power output data, tested with industry-standard AudioPrecision equipment. Hi @chriscooper3336 Unfortunately, the wrong kit was purchased. The HD14-STG5 is not compatible with 2024 FLHX models as stated on our compatibility chart below. You'll need to purchase the subwoofer system direct from Harley-Davidson (we engineer and build the system, but H-D sells them). I paid a ton of money for this system here and CA and for some reason I can't tell the difference between this and the Alpine system. I also get a little bass at 75% and more at 100% but it's nothing to write home about with two 12 inch subs. What could be the problem?
@rockfordfosgate4 күн бұрын
You may need to adjust your radio settings because the dual 12" subwoofers haul the mail. Be sure the Bass, Treble are at least set to flat and the balance is set to the middle. The Remote Level Control is designed for full linear control of the subwoofer from completely off to max output. Typically we found this knob to be left at the 1:00 o'clock mark and dialed to the right level based on music types.

I set my p1000x1bd putput clip to where the blue light was just off. At say 30 volume on the 40hz o db test tone. Whe. Playing music at like 20 to 22 volume the blue light starts to flash on and off, and sometimes the blue and purple light. In this video you are saying to set the gain even higher, at just below the red lighr, so it is blue. Is it safe to run my subs and amp with the output light flahsing while music is playing then? Is it fine as long as it doesnt flash red. Until i get an answer i have it turned down so the blue output clip light never even blinks on. But based on what others have said and this video i am guessing i could turn my gain up more and be safe with the output light turing on while music is playing. Would appreciate a response

Once you have the setting dialed-in to your preferred gain overlap, it's completely normal for the LED to be flickering while the audio is playing.

I just pulled this out of my bike. Couldn't wait to get it out of there. Constant issues where the amp wouldn't turn on and had to be reset by pulling the fuse. Updates didn't help. So happy with Hertz Amp and speakers all around. absolutely no comparison and turns on every time.
@rockfordfosgate4 күн бұрын
We're sorry to hear about your difficulties, but this is actually a Skyline OS issue rather than an amplifier problem. Riders on the '24 Road Glide forums with similar concerns have easily been able to resolve it by installing up to version 1,500 of the Skyline OS. Since the firmware update process can sometimes be tricky, many dealers are assisting with these updates as well. Either way, we recommend having the dealer update your Skyline OS to the latest version to ensure your motorcycle operates smoothly.

If you’d be willing to buy back the pos 500w amp I bought at Harley Davidson, if I prove a Boss 100w amp sold at Walmart, will out perform the garbage you claim as 200w or 500w for the 24 HD touring bikes. Care to take me up on my offer? I paid $590 for the 500 w amp upgrade because the 200w piece of shit wasn’t able to make audible sound, past 35 mph. Truth be told, the 500w upgrade only allows audible recognition to about 55 mph. I have ears, so I know what I’m talking about, if you’re rebuttal is “ we have 40+ years experience in sound design”….

Sorry, we missed your earlier message, as you probably figured this out by now. If not, an alternate way to remove the pods is by removing the radio: 1) Disconnect the radio harnesses and remove the 4 top screws out of the radio chassis. 2) Carefully slide the radio out. 3) You will see the top of the bolts when looking down into the radio cavity. This might be easier for you to access them.

Why I would not recommend buying a Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 digital receiver and Rockford Punch PBR400x4D audio amp; I have a 2006 Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classic converted to a Champion trike in 2008. The stock Harmon Kardon am/fm/cd radio was nice with all the handlebar controls - as long as it worked. The radio didn’t like a hard ride or a bumpy road - stopped working once, long story short I had Iron Cross fix it…and while they had it added Bluetooth and rear channel pre-amp audio outputs ($464.). I reinstalled the radio and within the next 100 miles the radio stopped working again - same problem as before and luckily it was within the Iron Cross warranty…they fixed it no charge (bad solder joint they say). When installing it for the second time I replaced all 4 speakers with Hogtunes XL 352 model. Nothing was wrong with the OEM stock speakers other then they lacked bass. The Hogtunes weren’t too much better bass wise, but did have a slightly crisper sound. The volume needed to be turned up to the 30 mark to hear music at highway speed (stock mufflers). A couple years later the front panel on the Harmon Kardon started shorting out and end up not lighting the front panel at all which made the unit almost worthless. The Iron Cross warrantee was up and considering how old the unit was I decided to replace with a Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 = $589.99 and installed it myself. Most of the handlebar controls still worked but not the increased volume as the road/engine noise increased. Sound wise it was a little louder, but not much and to my disappointment, no better bass. At highway speed the volume still had to be around the 30 range to hear anything - and it wasn’t that much better than with the OEM. So, I ordered the Rockford 4 channel Punch PBR400x4D audio amp ($292.), installed it and was disappointed again. The bass was no better, the highs may have been a little higher and the overall volume did increase but only 10-20% at tops. Now with the volume control at 30 I can finally hear the music at highway speeds, but with no bass. I had checked the polarity of each speaker, and tried different speakers, some home audio JBLs…with still no bass. Apparently what I need is a sub-woofer and another amp. similar to what I have in my GMC pick-up. As far as the hard ride went… I replaced the rear air shocks with a pair of twin-adjustable Bitubo 5100 and rebuilt the front fork. What I didn’t do was listen to the Rockford Fosgate radio in person before deciding what to buy. I was unable to find a local dealer that carried this at that time. And why the trike conversion? I’m handicapped and in my 70’s. Overall - disappointed in the Rockford Fosgate products. If you’re considering a radio/stereo upgrade for your Harley I would strongly recommend you go hear the brand and model numbers you’re considering before spending your time and money. The install wasn’t that difficult, just took time.
