Spends a quarter million to have a plane house, and then fills it with cheap junk... it looks like shit in there. I was expecting it to be swag af but it looks like just a long filthy trailer trash trailer... weird.

Hope this fire hazard has a good escape route. For 225,000 bucks buying a house with acreage around Hillsboro in 1999 would have been well worth multiple millions by now. But, a man's money is his to spend.

Bruce is a bit incorrect on the fire handle for the 727, you pull it out, hydraulic, fuel and electricity for that engine is cut. Rotate the handle one way to discharge 1 fire extinguishing bottle into the engine, rotate the other way to fire the second bottle or your last shot. So you have 2 chances, although pending configurations, your bottles may be shared with other engines and or APU. (Auxilliary Power Unit for ground use)

As a reminder, drones are not allowed on this hike. Please respect the rules.
@AdventureTravelWithSuyash23 күн бұрын
Parts of this hike do allow drones as they're not a part of national wilderness or other restricted areas. No signage restricting drones at the trailhead either. Drone was flown away from other hikers to not disturb them. Thanks

Thanks, that brought back memories. I used to solo backpack the Cascades and Olympics in the 1970's. Before required permits and sign ins. Lot fewer people too! Also, I don't remember seeing so many landslides in and around Goat Rocks. I would photograph Mountain Goats around Old Snowy and Johnson Peak. Had one photo published.

@@AdventureTravelWithSuyash That's great!! I am also planning in mid December. Did you carry all of your food and tent? How much of weight roughly were you carrying in your backpack?

@@kushiiawachar yes I did. About 15-20kg. I didn't measure but usually that's how much I carry.

Thanks for the vid. I bet I’ve been up there about 100 times. It was my primary training mountain for about 30 years. Even skied the upper slopes a couple of times. Best panorama from the top that’s easily accessible for a fit hiker in the Cascades. Always nice to see all the mountains surrounding it that I climbed so long ago. 40 years ago there was parking at the trailhead for about 4 cars, and that was a big crowd. Times have changed.

The trailheads have toilets but if you wanna go on the trail then it's open nature.

Can you camp in chain lakes loop? Do you need a reservation?
@AdventureTravelWithSuyashАй бұрын
There are designated backpacking camp sites for first come first serve which can get occupied fairly early in the day. I went towards ptarmigan ridge where there's dispersed camping to camp. You can see that in my Ptarmigan Ridge video.

Great hike and video. One thing…the loud footstep sounds gets old. Ever thought of muting that and adding music or something?

Thanks for the feedback. I've done that with a few of the videos but a lot of people prefer no music and just keeping the natural sounds. I'll try adding better music.

Bro, the place is incredible, good quality in the video, sound and the editing too. However, and I say this without any intention of disparaging your excellent and great work, I would enjoy it more if there was less movement in the camera or less violent turns, I understand the limitations that exist when starting a project in terms of equipment, it is just something to consider in the future. I will continue watching your videos, I like them a lot! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your adventures! Saludos desde México! 🤓 🤙

Very nice video. When you say you followed all drone laws be aware that those rocks are designated as National Wilderness Area (to protect birds especially during nesting season - spring and summer). They are part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. It is against FAA regulations to fly over any of the rocks off the Oregon coast at any time. Maybe you didn't but it sure looked like you flew directly over a couple of them. I just called the Wildlife Refuge to get clarification because I want to fly at the coast tomorrow. As I understand the FAA rules National Parks, National Monuments and Federally designated Wilderness areas are off limits but it is OK to fly in National Forests. Wildlife refuges are not restricted by the FAA as far as I can tell but fines for harassing wildlife could still be imposed. The beaches are controlled by Oregon Parks and Recreation and they are still trying to work out rules for the beaches and other state parks as of July 2024. For anyone who is not aware of it, if you post videos on KZbin for public consumption it is considered to be business use and you need a Part 107 FAA drone license. Again, very nicely done video. The AIR AWARE app (replaced the B4UFLY app) now shows at least all the bigger rocks as off limits as part of the Oregon Islands Wilderness.
