Coming back to this again, probably my third favorite Rhinocervs release after RH-07 and RH-11. Noticed that the two tracks starting at 20:49 and 23:11 are really reminiscent of Masks of Canaan.

They might be Masks of Canaan. I wasn't aware Masks of Canaan was really associated with the Black Twilight Circle stuff..... there was only one cassette released as such. Giving it a little more thought.... this might actually be. Dude behind the Masks of Canaan basically does a similar concept and releases music that is basically in the same vein under a bunch of different names. The Tempel ov Blood cassette is good too.

@@Cheeseburger.Launch.Sequence Yeah I don't believe there is any actual association between those artists, at least not apparently, I was just reminded strongly of that minimalistic/ritualistic folk sound and referring to a similarity I felt. You're definitely correct their approach is analogous though, prowling the underground with many mysterious aliases, often very comparable, though which they disseminate their output. And Tempel Ov Blood is for sure great too! Generally a big fan of all of JW/Jason Wood's works, as well as his label Fallow Field

@@Atzay Bro... glad you mentioned it. I just pulled out the Order of Nine Angels LP to listen to tomorrow sometime, that way I remember haha. Wood creates some cool stuff man. That was a wierd brain slip at the initial begining haha.

No name actually. A lot of the stuff from the label is nameless and it's simply referred to as "Rhinocervs". Tempest is a rather Urfaust-ish track but its the only one of its kind imo.

That is Devon who is Odz Manouk, they just didnt title this particular song under that name. He played all the instruments and sang that one

Glad this is on youtube. My old sony Walkman quit powering on a month ago so i've had nothing to play these old releases on. Only thing left to find on youtube is a Svn Okklt release, the double with the circle of candles on the cover (if you know it, you know it.)

@@UFOhunter4711 It is! Bought a tape deck since I wrote this so I been able to play that comp now. It's amazing how many artists on it have gone on to become notable in their own right, Axis of Light, Jute Gyte, Gevurah, etc... they were all basically unknown back then. Herukrat has a great ear for that sort of thing, the entire blog is a gold mine.

loved everything about this tape EXCEPT for the fact that it says “compilation” under the title. it’s like “no shit” and I think it detracts from the overall aesthetic. the music is flawless tho.
