If you want to be able to keep your packages up to date with a terminal command let me recommed apt upgrade / apt update and using Linux. If you're at a technical competency that you're wanting to manage updates with command line and you're not being forced to use Windows by your company or due to your job requirements just use Linux. If you're a gamer or need Photoshop or Ableton or something then dual boot. Don't bother with this kind of stuff on Windows unless you actually need to - use an OS that encourages tinkering and the use of terminal. Also literally 0 app developers consider this in their security and stability upgrade testing - there is absolutely no way this is as reliable or secure for 3rd party applications (as in 99% of your computer) as the modern auto-patching, update notification pattern. As with all command line, unless you actually understand what the commands are doing (as in could have written them yourself with a bit of doc reading) DO NOT RUN THE THING. Mysterious incantations from KZbin are not a good way to operate your machine, especially if its your actual daily driver holding the only record of your family photos (or other 'important' images) m The terminal is not an arcane, indecipherable secret language - if you're interested look up the Microsoft docs for command prompt or even ask ChatGPT. NEVER EVER blindly copy paste commands - and ESPECIALLY NOT if they prompt you for admin access (or sudo or whatever).
