1. You need to be grade 2 2. Find a good spot where people wont see you, take your sword out then press m & meditate for 7 minutes 3. There are a few different spirit types, chaotic, pure, kindhearted, and vengeful are the only ones i can name off the top of my head, think there is like 2 or 3 more, you gotts do whatever task that come with the type, then you meditste again & get to fight your shikaai npc If you get any of the pvp ones your good cuz they removed pvp from the shikai requirements so you can go straight to the shikai fight Beat the shikai boss and then u have ur shikai and activate it by pressing J :D

@choskujo do division missions & regular missions like normal till you get grade 2, then do everything I've said, the game doesn't force stop your ranking till you hit grade 2 so if you have a problem getting to it for some reason it's probably a bug
