I wouldn't feel sorry for the baby. It sounds like OP and her ex are committed to being good parents, and are on the same page. It's the best-case scenario for a situation like this.

What happens if he moves on first and the baby likes the girlfriend. Sole custody or threats don't get me wrong on some level I understand the divorce. But as far as I can tell she has no empathy, she hated his mom with good reason. But that is still his mother. Then he was literally the victim of corporate sabotage. She just decided it wasn't going to work, and now is out for herself. Plenty of aingle moms start out looking good for co parenting. But just wait this woman has no patience. Also likely to pick someone who will end up sexually abusing the child.

It's very reasonable to do everything possible to stop that person in her child's life who nearly made the child fatherless. Yes she has the right to sole custody because that father threw her out while pregnant, not even giving her time to move . @harlempixie338 it's not what I went through it's what my brothers went through what a good friend of mine who is a women went through. Statistically the 2nd partner is significantly more dangerous. It is proven to get evil step moms 1/3 of the time. For the women picking second husband's the number jumps above 50% sexual abuse of a minor. Now there are a few reasons for this. A most men aren't interested long term in single mother's. So your pool of available men in much smaller than you realize. After this women with young children are targets for smooth predators. Smash the mom groom the daughter. I have met many single mothers who sound like this. It doesn't end well.
