Just tried tuning my new Gold Tone banjo to C but the B string keeps going flat as soon as I tune it up to C. Any ideas as to why this happens gratefully received! 😊

@@craigmitchell8892 thanks. I don’t play as much as I once did. Or at least put it online any more. Music was my job for a while and I got burned out. But thanks for the watch and the compliment!

@@DakotaWaddellMusic Aw Thats totally understandable mate, glad you're still about though as I worried when i saw u hadnt been active on here for 8 years. learning a new medium/instrument always works for me. I had a similar situation with the piano and music production, fell out of love with it a bit and the banjo (plus a few other things) brought me back. Cheers for sharing.

One of the first bluegrass/old time tunes I learned as an adult classical violinist. This rendition is absolutely beautiful.

An old hen with a wooden leg sounds unlikely, by after Googling "Pet Chicken Learns To Walk On Wooden Leg" and seeing the picture, the song is much more plausible now.

Untill now, the most beautiful, sophisticated version of the c.o. h. Especially I enjoyed the relaxed, fluid banjo arrangement.

Good stuff! Very helpful! I have played three finger style banjo for over 40 years and have been working on learning the clawhammer style for about a year, I really love it! You are a great player, please keep the videos coming! PS I really enjoyed your video of Cluck Old Hen on the mountaintop, excellent!!

Thanks for describing which is which. My mom got me a banjo for Christmas. I always like it and when I found out awhile back one of my favorite actors I thought of as a role model played a lot and the way that I liked music. I didn't know it was completely different styles. I just assumed it was Irish music and bluegrass was just American Irish. Claw hammer isn't bluegrass, I just couldn't describe it. Thanks

It’s hard to learn a song just b watching someone play it. I don’t think a lot of folks should be “teaching” music.

Teaching music is tough. I’m not great at it by any means. It’s really difficult sometimes to translate something that comes kind of natural for others.
