Hardly the same Maradona’s hand of God goal was deliberate England’s goal was fortunate and the luck went their way , plus in some cultures to deceive to gain a advantage is looked upon as a quality and is admired Maradona even covered this in his Biography a number of years ago !

The way labour is now and the leftwing in general areTony Benn would probably be labelled right wing , I was labour voter in Benns times , I was always seen and thought of myself left wing, Nowadays my views have not changed much but I HAVE been called a rightwinger and once even a nazi because I had a mildly differeing opinion with a "new labour voter",,,, Times change I suppose.!

Benn was a great speaker. But... the Clinton administration asked for Bin Laden to be handed over for trial since 1998 (Kenya embassy bombing) without success. Bush made the same demand after 9/11 again without success. 9/11 was rightly considered an act of war and Afghanistan was invaded under Article 51 of the UN charter (self defence) with no Security Council resolution.

I was really too young to understand what actually happened I was in my mid teens, but since then via youtube I somewhat relived in a way a lot of what happened, quite appalling. Another name to look out for was Robin Cook, there are some ok politicians in UK but I could only count them of one pair of hands, that is how few these people are.

Tony was right. The US gave the Mujahadeen millions of dollars and gave them weapons to fight the Soviets when the Afghan army asked them to help fight the rebels.

Tony Benn is a Norwegian national hero. Gifted us the North Sea’s continental shelf making our little nation one of richest countries on earth. Norway’s sovereign wealth fund is worth trillions. Norway is debt free and the U.K. buys most of its natural gas from us. Thank you Tony Benn for giving Norway the biggest Christmas gift when you signed away U.K. territory to Norway when you was in Labour Government ❤

Tony Benn was a very, very clever man and a great Parliamentarian. He's exactly the kind of man that we are lacking so badly here in the UK in 2024. The last 14 years we have been governed by a procession of clowns who are utterly clueless and do not have the best interest of the UK and our people at heart! It's time for change. Starmer might not have the charisma of Benn, but he cannot possibly be as bad as the shambles we have had recently. Get out there and vote Labour everyone ❤

That Washington Post propagandist is the picture boy for what cognitive dissonance looks like. Facts, don’t care about feelings and Wedgewood-Benn payed out the objective facts of the matter. If this sadly typical idiot American really _was_ a journalist, then he would have done his job and _researched_ the facts _before_ showing his ugly echoey mug on national television. An absolute disgrace to the profession and the fourth estate. 🤡

My Nan lost her Mum to Spanish Flu, her dad buggered off and she was brought up by her blind Grand Mother. She knew poverty, she was a union rep at work. A councillor and Sat on DHSS tribunals in later life helping people that had lost their benefits. After her family had grown up she then fostered dozens and dozens of children. Tony Benn was my Nans hero just as she was and in memory still is mine...

And of course the US refused to recognise their conviction from the World Court for war crimes in Nicuagua, and eventually refused to recognise the World Court. Additionally, during their 'War on Terror', not one US citizen who help fund the IRA and/or PIRA to kill or maim innocent men women and children on UK soil has faced prosecution.

Exactly. One one of the documentaries about the TWA800 explosion plays the recording of Bin Laden saying he will attack the US and mentions aircraft if they continue to meddle in the MIddle East.
