Intriguing. Overwhelming. Disturbing. Evocative. These big sculptures stir my experiences from their daily lethargy. Also beautiful how you were able to mix the sounds and motions of the wind with the sand of the dunes, the rumble of the sea, and the shapes of the sculptures. Impressive.

Apparently, it's not just a technique or a skill. You also need to master the patience and the discipline to try and try again. Experiments must be a major part of the work involved. As I see it, you experimented a lot and controlled the results enough to apply the experience. It all pays off, I can tell from your prints.

Do you mean the piece I have glued on the bottle? That is a part of the stuff they use here in Spain to cover the grapes. When it's torn down by the wind, they just throw it aside, making a mess, of course. I collected some to give it a second use. :)

Absolutely, can't agree more, I think everyone should be doing art, it has numerous benefits, it is always creative, new creative methods appear all the time and you just never stop learning. At the moment I draw mostly, but would love to explore more, like what you showed in your video and monotype, lino printing etc.

@@HannieMommers Yes, it is so much fun! And it is very true what you said about not all mistakes being a bad thing, I've had some happy accidents happen as well. So far, I've been using a UV light that I already had for my houseplants. It's been working well, but one thing I just covered last night is that I was underexposing some of the prints that I thought were under the light for long enough. With my light, it seems that they need 30 to 40 minutes minimum

@@elisaxsimmons Oh wow, that's a long time. Indeed it's easier to under-expose than to over-expose. The advantage of UV is that once you have the appropriate time, it's constant. Yet, using the sunlight has its own charm, so I alternate as well :) Where are you located? I am in Spain, so most of the time the sun is abundant. Good luck!

Many credits for the excellent organization. The nice weather was also a boon. Your short impression gives a good overview of the exhibitions, but not of the works. Perhaps next time you might separate the buildings from the works exhibited?

The biggest problem I found was that the paint would come off or burr up. I put this down to it being too thin, but in fact, it may well be leaving the brayer on the whole time whilst rolling.

Too thick or too thin paint, and the number of times you move the brayer over it, is a precarious balance. Eventually, you will get a feel for it, but sometimes we need much patience to get there. :) Good luck!

@@HannieMommers I have just been using magazine advertisements. I have limited myself to only using a variety of black acrylics to see if they vary in the results. I understand that laser print can be more reliable, but I only have inkjet. I tried a few ideas, like using a gloss paper, or even wax paper, but the results were ineffective. The magazine results have improved though.

@@lotuseater7247 I have the same problem, Jason, inkjet and not a laser printer. Some magazines give a good result result and some do absolutely nothing. It probably has to do with the composition of the ink but what part of it, I haven't discovered yet. I used one of my old books with black & white pictures that gave a great result. 😀

Saat ini kita bisa membaca manuskrip manuskrip itu secara Digital..pihak museum menyediakan sebuah tablet yg bisa di klik untuk membaca bunyi manuskrip manuskrip yang kita ingin baca..karena tak mungkin kita membuka manuskrip itu secara langsung... Di tablet itu akan muncul isi manuskrip dalam bahasa aslinya..kemudian kita tinggal pilih ingin dalam terjemahaan dlm bahsa apa..karena terdapat terjemaahan dalam 24 bahsa dunia termasuk Bahasa indonesia.. Ironis dan tragis Saat kita ingin mempelajari sejarah asli leluhur kita sendiri..kita harus mencarinya ke Negara lain..negara yang jauh dan notabene pernah mempecundangi kita.. Karena ketika kita belajar sejarah di negeri sendiri..yg kita temui hanya sejarah palsu.. Awalnya saya marah.. Bajindol Belanda telah mencuri peninggalan berharga Nusantara..manuskrip manuskrip kuno yang tak ternilai harganya telah mereka ambil..dan pindahkan ke negeri mereka.. Tapi ketika saya menjumpai kenyataan bahwa justru jika dibiarkan oleh para arkeolog Belanda waktu itu..maka manuskrip manuskrip tak ternilai itu justru akan punah dibakar..dimusnahkan..atau dihancurkan Oleh bangsa kita sendiri yg otaknya telah teracuni Dogma..dogma yang merusak kewarasan.. Ternyata manuskrip yg berjumlah 26 000 lembar itu hanya 10 % dari jumlah yang pernah ada.. Pada masa keruntuhan majapahit dan awal masuknya islam..penghancuran penghancura kesastraan Jawa berlangsung secara masiv dan sistematis.. I don't know what I am doing wrong, every time we try lift a second layer with the gel plate, the acrylic stays put and no patterns or anything even show up, I've gotten up to 10 layers with the same results before giving up, what am I doing wrong?

I can't say what you are doing wrong. I should be next to you to be able to do that. There are a few things you can question yourself. * Do you clean the gelli plate well enough and regularly? * Have you tried to add a thin layer of Gel Medium? * Have you tried a different paper? * Have you experimented with the thickness of the layers? * Are you putting the paper on and off right away or do you wait a couple of minutes with a heavy book on it? I hope one of these questions will give you the answer. Good luck.

Thanks, Jean, and yes, it is great fun! I started by buying a kit I found on the Spanish website Planeta Huerto (I don't know if they send stuff abroad). When I had used all the fluid, I looked on the internet and found a place in Madrid that sends it by mail. Have a look at my blog for the exact names. I am sure there will be a company in your country as well. The easiest way is to start with a kit because then you have the basic supplies all at once. Good luck and have fun. :)

Hi ShaneSummer, I do 😀 I try to avoid it as much as possible by rolling the brayer on scrap paper every time I have rolled paint on the Gelli plate. Most of the time I can get it clean with a baby wipe, although I do have one brayer that is beyond cleaning. It depends on the material of the brayer as well. The one I use in the video is a semi-soft silicone which cleans very well. Good luck.

I agree with Hannie. brayer off onto scrap or book pages. I also keep a pan of water with a splash of Murphys oil soap nearby. toss stencils, brayers, stamps in for easy clean up later. even the next day.

Murphys Oil Soap is sold as a wood floor cleaner. it breaks down acrylic paint easily.

Hi Christina, a gel medium is more or less transparent and acts as a kind of glue. I have Liquitex matte medium. A well-stocked hobby store will sell this. I order mine from an online store, Mi Tienda de Arte in Spain. They are part of a chain (including Craftelier) that is located in different countries. Good luck :)
