This was made in 2021. Also, "contraption". Also, "lose". Beyond those issues, outstanding contribution.

Awesome idea on a trap, but wouldn’t they slide right off of the jug and back out? It seems to me like she installed it upside down but I can see why she wanted to pointing up since they usually crawl up and not down. But they would need a way to crawl inside the funnel. And it seems like they could fall right back out anyway. I dunno maybe I’m wrong.

Super! ❤ Would have liked to see the approximate location of the original water-powered pump that pumped water to the filter house across the street. And the approximate locations of the 3 dynamos used to hydrogenate electricity for the community with one reserved for Mr. Duke's estate. After Duke bought the site (he was originally the major? stockholder of the Raritan Water Power Co. ), he reduced the number to two dynamos. Thank you for your presentation.

🤔If you're going to use a stapler in the build you may as well skip the thumbtacks and just use the stapler to hold the screen to the tree....If you can push the thumbtacks in with your fingers a desk stapler should be able to penetrate the bark as well.

This was very helpful- thank you from NJ! My rubber bands did not survive after a few weeks, so I just heavily duct taped everything. But I've made 3 of these for my two trees and none of them look as nice as yours ): It's still catching a bunch tho. So thank you.

That’s pretty fascinating. I’ve seen Northern Flickers occasionally here. Do they have the same tongue structure? I know hummingbirds have a similar hyolingual apparatus. Though I assume they don’t have the barbed tip, since their tongue forks to collect nectar, rather than snag grubs. Thanks for the detailed info!

54:30 look into Stormwater Utility for your municipality, and be creative with its system of credits. Currently there are "Tree" credits, but there's no reason why in the future, there couldn't be "Participates in deer management program" credits, or "Percentage native vegetation" credits.

That explained very well how to make a tunnel, but I think the ninth grader who designed a trap with netting and tin foil (and a tunnel) has a better trap.

The trap should be quite easy for almost anyone to duplicate. Surprised that it uses no bait. One minor technical point: In American Wire Gauge (AWG) the higher the number the thinner the wire. Thus no. 16 is fatter than no. 18.
