Michigan City is a fun little beach town and October is definitely when the place starts going to sleep until the holidays. I 😊am actually looking forward to 4th of July because that damp beach next to the lighthouse will have about 4000 people! I love your video and hope you come back to Washington Park before Labor Day ❤ God bless you both....❤❤

Is Michigan city a safe town? Nice place to live?
@Phantom196311 күн бұрын
@@I.AM.7. I have lived in Michigan City since 2015 and have had one situation that could have become ugly, but was able to persuade the individual that violence was not the solution. As with all of the United States, crime is on the rise, but there is not 1 area of Michigan City that I would be afraid to walk through at 2 a.m. It is a town close to Chicago, and easy access to and from Chicago, bringing good, and bad. Come take a look.... A big week is coming during the 4th, and the police will be monitoring the festivities in force. Fun places to be??? Lighthouse Premium Outlet Mall, leave your car there, and walk 20 minutes to the beach... The Blue Chip Casino is fun, for adults 😁 And right across from the beach is a wonderful zoo. Washington Park is right next to the beach and will be filled with families having cookouts and playing games. The fireworks display is incredible and one can see fireworks from all across the southern shores including Chicago. Winter can get really challenging when Lake Michigan fires up the snow machines... 40 inches overnight 🥶 but mostly 6 or 8 inches. There are 4 distinct seasons and July and August are the hottest. January and February are the coldest. Come spend a weekend here, and visit Matey's, which is close to the beach....and Lakeshore coffee across from the outlet mall.... AWESOME COFFEE!!! If you are a dedicated Starbucks fan, there is one in the outlet mall. On the other end of town, you will find all of your shopping and restaurants.... IHOP, McDonald's and other fast-food, groceries and Walmart, and many others. I hope you come to MC and enjoy your visit...and .....if you get bored here, jump on the new South shoreline and you're downtown Chicago in under 1 hour for around $10. ENJOY 😍 😍 😍

Great video! You two did an awesome job! My wife and I hiked the Highline trail about ten years ago. But we only made it midway because there was lots of snow on the ground. That was early to mid July. Hoping to do the hike this coming July! Our absolute favorite hike though, was to Grinnell Glacier. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

You did a great job covering so much in a short amount of time! You should come back during Live History Days in July when there are historical & craft demonstrations, working machines, and rides. It lasts for 2 days. One day I want to go through & video my son describing all the equipment he has worked on, maintained, and restored. He is Assistant Curator & has been working there since the late 1990's. Started out as a volunteer.

Oh but you missed the most majestic part of Leprechaun! From the beginning of that slot you climb up and over it to the east, walk past the slot part, then drop back down into the main part of the canyon. It's not a difficult climb but you need shoes with good traction. The canyon beyond is wider and has very tall walls, then you come to a slot section that also has very high walls and is only about a foot wide at the top. You follow it until you can't go anymore. I've watched various videos on the canyon and nobody explained this. I was there 3 weeks ago and had to figure it out on my own.

pompano Joes is VERY hit or miss! Even the staff complain that its not consistent at all! Plus, they almost doubled there pricing since covid! (I lived across the street from Pomps for 2 years). Pomps is for drinks on the sand! But the food is way overpriced, and not up to par at all! All locals know this! The big 5 restaurants on the sand (Pomps, crab trab, Surf hut, and the rest on the water, in that area, are ALL owned by same company, and that company can not STOP people from showing up! so they dont care about reviews, pricing, quality waitresses, nothing! Its an absolute cash cow, that has NO problems getting new customers each year! 3.5 million people visit Destin each year, and Pomps does not need loyal customers! and it shows. The best spots are inland, imho. These beach spots are for the right to DRINK in front of their business, on the sand! Thats it.

Back then, over 50 years ago, Yellow Springs was just a sleepy little college town. The old Tavern was there, and a biker bar called Desolation Row - still there, called The Gulch the last time I visited Y.S. Thanks again.

Thanks for your video, well done, brought back memories. When I was a high school kid in Dayton back in the late 60s we used to go over to Clifton Gorge - no improved trails or barriers then. We would jump in the Gorge off those high clffs in your video, get up to that waterfall, jump in, go shooting down the Gorge! If my memory is correct the water is hundreds of feet deep at that point. What a rush! Just crazy kids.

Thanks Ron. Know that you DO make a difference. You give messages of HOPE & kindness. You don’t have to be on the “front lines” to help the people in Lahaina. It’s horrible what they (& you) went through & I don’t claim to relate since I’ve never been through anything that horrific(although I have been through some wildfires here in SoCal). So just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re helping ME!!! I’m a counselor myself but we have problems too. I’m hoping to come out there sometime this year with some friends. Praying for Chile too. Peace, A. Newman Long Beach Cal.

Bryce Canyon is one of my favorite natural attractions I have ever been to. I saw it back in the late 80s. Noticed the Silverton, Colorado jacket. Does that mean you rode the Durango and Silverton Railroad on this trip?
@HolidayRoadTravel9 ай бұрын
Man it’s beautiful isn’t it! So we opted to skip the train and instead drive the “million dollar highway” from Silverton to Ouray! We have a video about that one too! I really wanted to do the train but it didn’t work out with our schedule!

We hit PNB three times a year when we lived in Ohio. Since we moved to Colorado in 98, but still hit PNB once a year around the summer holidays. Liked the Vid, Keep it up guys!

What has happened to my home town breaks my heart. When I left there (back in 1973, when I was 22 years old) I fully intended to make it back home, but never did. Now "home" isn't there anymore. Having been all over America in my 72 years, I can honestly say that NOWHERE in America was there a finer city in which to live and raise a family. Although it was 50 yrs ago when I left, at that time the population was roughly twice what it is now and Huntington was truly an all American city. There were great schools, great neighborhoods with tree-lined cobblestone streets, great shopping and manufacturing, great doctors and hospitals--- my hometown had it all. It was small enough to be friendly and warm, yet large enough to offer all the conveniences of a thriving metropolis. Guess this is what happens when a once great and productive country sends all of its manufacturing (and jobs) overseas : (

He started out as a volunteer. I never get to go in the main building anymore because they used to keep mothballs in there & I can still smell them! Wish I could see your Grandmother's dress, it must be beautiful! Maybe next time they can fiilm the Native American section, there are so many beautiful pieces in there.
